I returned on a Friday night. I sat at the bar, again, and we had a different waiter. Oscar gave me a completely different experience. He greeted me as soon as we sat down. He had chips and salsa brought out to us, immediately. He offered us water. When I ordered the skinny martini again, he offered it in different sizes. I didn't even know from my first experience that it came in anything but one size, the smallest size. Oscar provided great service. I am glad I gave the place a second chance. Oscar is the model by which the others should follow.
The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars now is because my stomach wasn't happy when I got home. It carried over to the next morning. There were multiple trips to the bathroom so I'm not sure if my food was not handled properly or if was just my tummy.
Original Review - Bottom line up front: While the food and drinks were good, the service was horrible. I had to hunt down Carlos, the bartender, for everything - chips and salsa, a margarita, to order food, a plate to put my chicken wing bones on... everything! I was never offered water, and when I paid with cash, Carlos asked if I wanted my change back. Um, yes, sir, because your service sucked!
I ordered the Casa wings, 2 Skinny Margaritas and the Chimichanga Deluxe (fried). Food was great. Drinks were nice.
Drinks I was disappointed that while they have a menu full of margaritas of all varieties, they are mostly premixed. The only one that is made fresh is the skinny version. It was good.
Food I mentally prepared myself for blanched wings that were over cooked when they came out so fast, but I was wrong. The Casa wings were fresh and delicious. No double chewing for me! The batter was crispy and the sauce sweet and tangy just like the menu says.
The Chimichanga wasn't anything to write home about but it wasn't bad either. The refried beans tasted canned but the pico de gallo tasted fresh.
Atmosphere They play salsa music which I love and soccer (or football) was playing on the big TV screens. I felt like I was in a Mexican restaurant.
Overall All in all, I want to love this place but the service was horrible. It seems the group of nine that came in well after me received better service. Maybe it would have been better if I spoke their language, Spanish. I could tell English was all the bartender's second language, but it doesn't take much to take care of people, regardless of the language you speak, especially when there are only 4-5 people sitting at a bar that seats 15-16 people.
I'll try again. Maybe I'll get Carlos on a better day or just a different bartender that values my...
Read moreUPDATE YOUR ONLINE MENU PRICES!!!!! I went online to look at this place’s menu and prices and decided to call in an order. I ordered the taco salad which showed the price of $12.99 online And one of the combination dinner platters, which was three tacos for $13.99. Tell me why when I went to pick up the food and they rang it up and gave me my receipt, they charged me $14.99 for the taco salad and $15.99 for the 3 taco platter. THIS IS A RIP OFF!!! May I also add that the tacos were smaller and had less meat and cheese in them than the tacos from Taco Bell! I actually called the restaurant back and asked them if the prices on their Online menu were up-to-date and I got put on hold for five minutes to have the receptionist tell me “oh ya, we have an updated our website yet” Here’s the thing, if they know, they haven’t updated their website yet then they should be telling people over the phone as a courtesy that their prices have changed and to inform them of the price they’ll be paying for the stuff that they order. I’m willing to bet that they’re never going to their website and just continue to rip people off. Beware! Not only is a rip off the food is not worth it. You will get better food from Taco Bell...
Read moreCasa Tequila was a nice little restaurant with 2 bars in the heart of Lorton Station. The first crew member we encountered had a bit of an attitude, but I am pretty sure that he was a busboy. Not that it is an excuse, but he doesn't deal with people as much as the amazing waiter we had. I don't remember his name, but he was energetic, positive, and engaging. We started with a couple of cocktails (obviously) which we selected from their initially, apparently meager list of margaritas. But there is a reason the list is simple and short, it is because they are awesome margaritas! We ordered one "Casa Lime Margarita" (on the right side of the pic) and one "Cadillac Margarita" (on the left in the pic). Order their margaritas, period. Their chips tasted homemade and their salsa was flavorful, although a little watery. We also ordered a couple of apps, one Steak Quesadilla and one Mango-habanero Shrimp. They were both delicious. They could have been warmer, if the plates were fresh out of the steamer then they wouldn't have cooled the food down so quickly. Still delicious, though. Get to Casa Tequila as soon as you are in the area. Enjoy...
