This is my favorite course in Los Angeles. Short but challenging and may look easy but this course is not for beginners.. The hill will make great shots end up in horrible places.(Most of the front 9 can roll you into ruins) The locals call it getting chavez'd. This course will test your abillity to shape shots through and around trees. The track has many ace-able holes, hit one and you'll be coming back for sure. You can shoot -10 one round and +12 the next depending on shot selection and luck. If you are right handed I recommend you have a side arm shot in your arsenal otherwise it could be a long day.. I also recommend that the fade of your shot go against the angle of the slope instead of with it. But, that doesn't mean anything. That disc can hop up on edge and roll on you at anytime!! LOL!! Weekly doubles on Tuesdays (winter time start around 3pm.. starts later as days get longer) Monthly tournament first sunday of every month usually starts at 930am but get there at 9am to register. (Rec, Inter, Open division available) Join the Chavez ridge DGC facebook page for all updates on the course. Have fun at this course!! Cause...
Read moreThe course added new holes in 2018. Used to be a short technical 18 overlooking downtown LA, Dodger Stadium, and out to San Pedro docks (on a clear day). 27 holes now - nice view of Elysian Valley. Great course and chill locals. Hole 1 is below Hole 6 on the "front" side, which is the tennis court side of The Ridge below Park Row Dr. Holes 1, 2, 2a, 2b, 3, 3a, 3b, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 are on the front. Then there is the "freeway" side with 4 holes that start and end north of where Angels Point and Grand View meet. The "back" side is the reservoir side that starts below where Grand View meets Park Row and plays along Park row back toward Dodger Stadium. Be careful not to skip 11. Holes 9, 10 ,11, 12 ,13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 17a, 17b, 18 are...
Read moreBring your repelling gear for this scenic course frustratingly located high above LA on the side of a cliff. I suggest playing any other course in SoCal, and then quitting disc golf before trying this one. I love disc golf, i hate this course. We lost 5 discs, 3 shoes, and our friend Hal. We think he fell off one of the tee boxes into some helicopters below. I didn’t start playing disc golf for the exercise, but you’ll get a workout when your disc goes all Wile E Coyote off the ridge. The only reason i gave this course two stars instead of one, is because we didn’t like Hal that much and were somewhat grateful to the ridge for...
