This park used to be one of my favorite underrated spots one must visit while in LA, especially the Chinatown/Lincoln Heights side--not only for the gay cruising, but also for the peace you get from being in nature, and the great views of the Los Angeles City skyline. However, lately, I can say little I approve of the maintenance of this side of the park. While Vin Scully Drive is a main entrance to the park, and thus Dodger Stadium, it's well maintained and manicured. On the other hand, the Broadway entrance is also a main artery into the park, but is so poorly maintained that someone should declare most of it a health hazard. It seems that the park employees are lackadaisical at best, as I have observed them napping in their City vehicles in various places in the park. Trash cans are a rarity here, as they have been systematically removing trash receptacles on this side and the nearby Radio Hill and Gardens. The City's treatment of the homeless people there is disagreeable, too, because it seems, from my observation, that they do not clean the areas that there are encampments; they only destroy them so that people will not be able to occupy that site. Also, there are actually pools of used condoms in different areas of the park, and that's just disgusting. Add this to a lack of adequate and accessable bathrooms, necessitating people using nature instead, creates a level of unsanitary conditions that should be corrected immediately, for the sake of all those who...
