've had such a great experience working with Derek for all of my travel needs. He has been instrumental in helping us plan a trip to Mexico that includes a very large group of 30-50 people so it's very confusing and there is a ridiculous amount of coordination and communication required with every person that we invited that must be a true headache, but I didn't have to deal with any of this because I hired Derek! To add even more chaos and confusion to the mix, we had to move this trip TWICE due to the pandemic. He never missed a beat and was so great at rescheduling everything for every single one of our guests and talking with them at length about the different options they had for flights, rooms, activities etc. Without him - there is no way we would've been able to pull off this trip. We also had some concerns about the weather in Cancun since we had to move the trip to September and it was very apparent when we brought this up that he isn't just any ordinary travel agent, he really invests time to learn about the area and really know all the details because he sent us great information that addressed our weather concerns and also brought up a really important seaweed issue we were completely unaware of. I guess certain parts of Mexico have seaweed washed up on their beaches at certain times of the year but he was able to give us a bunch of research and insight from his personal experiences on this issue that addressed all our concerns! I can tell he is extremely passionate about traveling and puts a lot of effort into researching everything about the place he is planning a trip for. He is such a wealth of knowledge and had great suggestions and solutions for any concern or problem that we came across. One of my favorite parts about working with Derek though, is his personality. His ridiculously funny sense of humor and level of customer service is truly unparalleled. He makes the whole experience of planning a very complicated trip so enjoyable! It was actually a really fun experience to figure it all out and I was able to relax knowing he was handling all of the things I KNOW I wouldn't have considered or forgotten. I've been wanting to visit the Channel Islands for over a year now. While doing my own research and trying to put together a day trip on my own, I discovered Go Legendary Adventures. From the very start Derek was so incredibly helpful and accomodating. Planning a group trip for my birthday during COVID-19 time proved to be more difficult than I'd anticipated. But Derek was so patient, understanding, and flexible. I especially appreciated his flexibility when the initial group size dwindled down. I was instantly impressed with the detailed itinerary he had created for the trip. The initial plan was to kayak and then go hiking. Derek really tried his best to get us as much time on the island as possible. He anticipated needs and really rolled with the punches when it came to super last minute changes. He went above and beyond to make sure we all had a nice time. That we did. On the way to the Santa Cruz Island we saw several pods of dolphins. While kayaking, we saw different kinds of birds and seals up close. The winds and waves ensured that we got a full body workout while kayaking. We spent all our time on the water, which was fine. It was so helpful to not have to be the person having to monitor time, purchased ferry tickets, etc...Another benefit of having Derek as a guide was learning about the history and ecology of the islands. Others who were also heading to the islands by ferry were ear-hustling while he was giving us info. Having a knowledgeable guide beats trying to go it on your own. As an avid traveler, 26 countries and counting, I finally used a travel advisor on my latest trip to Mexico. Derek crafted a Mexican adventure that truly refreshed my soul. I am literally still at a loss for words when I try and describe just how amazing my trip was. Derek helped bring my travel wishes to life by discussing and understanding my wants and needs (budget, hotels, experiences-foodie/culinary, historic sites, adventures). He then designed a trip/itinerary that fell within those parameters. If any problems came up during planning, Derek came back to me with numerous alternate options.
