DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BARBERSHOP (read full review).
I came to this Palms Barbershop for the first time today, January 16 at about 2 pm. Prior to arriving, I called and asked an employee there whether walk-ins were allowed and if I could schedule an appointment. He said I could just come in and I don't need an appointment.
I arrive at 2, there's no where to park, only sidewalk parking, and the area to park infont of the shop is taken over by the restaurant next door with signs saying "no parking food pickup only." So I had to drive around the block a few times, park down the street and walk pretty far.
I enter the shop, no one greets me or hardly looks at me. There were three Hispanic barbers in there. I had to ask a Hispanic customer standing inside watching his son get a haircut how long the wait was and who was I after in line. He told me about 30 minutes. I waited at least 30 minutes sitting in a chair on the sidewalk infront where it was cold and very windy.
After the customer who I was supposed to be after left, I walked in and stood there waiting for one of the barbers to greet me and tell me where to sit. Instead one of them completely disregarded me and like looked through me and at someone outside who he spoke to and told "I'll be right with you."
That's when I told him that I was next in line and I had been waiting close to an hour. He then told me that the person who had just arrived and was being put infront of me had an appointment. I then began to explain to him that when I called I asked about making an appointment and was told it wasn't necessary. He cut me off while I was talking and said "I don't know who you talked to when you called but you're not next."
No other employee ever intervened at any time, apologized, tried to make things right nor anything of the sort. That's when I just said ok and departed because I was by that time justifiably ready to punish him.
I then went across the street to Kevin's Barbershop where I was warmly greeted, instantly seated, and received a good razor fade haircut.
Heed my advice and do not waste your time coming to Palms Barbershop. These rude, racist employees there don't deserve to have any customers nor anything else. And if any of them or their "homies" have a problem with this then...
Read moreI scheduled an appointment for Wednesday at 4:00, I waited 40 min until I was called which is fine I understand the barbers are busy. My issue is I asked for a mid fade, lineup, and 1 inch from the top, and the lady barber was for some reason so confused and she didn’t mention anything but towards the end it wasn’t a fade at all, she just did level 2 from the sides and back. I know this place is good but I find it disrespectful and absurd that a barber will completely ignore explicit directions, and she proceeded to charge me $35 for a fade yet I’m still confused on that because it clearly wasn’t a fade. The overall haircut wasn’t bad, but it def fell below expectations and ruined what I wanted my hair to look like...

All the barbers are good but My preference is Rios ( the owner ) or Mike. Be prepared to wait at least an hour or 2. If you don't like waiting be there as soon as they open. Very known barbershop by locals. They know how to do a real fade not like other places I been to. Prices are $20 for adults. $17 for kids last time I was there. Check before going. And guys please tip your barber this is how they make...
