I could go on for hours about how well I was taken care of here at this Hospital, but I'll try to keep it short and sweet as possible. So I was rushed in through Emergency by paramedics (I had no idea at the time how very close I was to dying) on 6/25. Thanks to the great minds and quick work of the Drs and entire care team, I was very promptly seen and diagnosed with severely critical anemia (low red blood cell/oxygen levels) due to internal bleeding and was informed that I needed to have emergency surgery right away. After having been seen for the same severe symptoms at 2 separate ERs and my Primary Care Dr over the course of a WHOLE MONTH, I sadly did not have much hope for myself at this point. However, the surgery went very well and was done with what I can only imagine was such expertise and precision that I am still in awe and thankful everyday that I am alive and that it was not as invasive nor gory as it could have been! It really could have been A LOT rougher, A LOT worse, and a much longer recovery (Thank you so much Dr. Lapelis (and other Drs) for the beautiful work in surgery!) After surgery during my recovery I was in the ICU for a few days, then transferred to Surgical Recovery, and of course there were some who stood out a bit more than others, but I still cannot get over how wonderful and attentive EVERYONE was and how well I was taken care of- from every nurse to every Dr to every house-keeper, and every phlebotomist (which I met quite a few as I needed my Red Blood Cell levels checked frequently, had to be woken up at all odd hours, but everyone made that so easy and comfortable for me!) even the case manager- and the dieticians who work in the kitchen were even super kind, caring, and professional when I needed something specific added to my diet! Everyone I encountered at this hospital was so kind, caring, attentive and gentle and I truly believe that the care and compassion I was given here is what led me through such a speedy recovery! I just can't say enough good things about my experience here, and that's coming from someone who had just about bled to death internally by the time I got there, had about 4 different IVs plus one HUGE catheter in my jugular - and still this was somehow the most comfortable I have ever been in the hospital! Drs and nurses checked in on me frequently, had no problems answering any questions I had, and also offered me encouragement along the way. Information and instructions were communicated clearly and thoroughly. They even filled my meds for me right there in the hospital pharmacy! Thank you everyone, you all made a huge impact in my...

I explicitly explained to them that I was juggling two jobs and desperately needed something to alleviate the excruciating arthritis pain in my hands. All I asked for was a simple prescription of 800mg Ibuprofen or any alternative that could provide relief. However, instead of receiving the understanding and help I needed, I was unfairly judged and treated as if I were merely seeking free drugs.
The entire experience left me feeling utterly disgusted and dehumanized. Not only were they dismissive and unsympathetic, but they also made me endure an agonizing three-hour wait for the prescription, despite my urgent reminder about needing to be at work within two hours. As a result, I not only missed out on receiving the medication essential for managing my pain, but I also suffered from the subsequent lack of sleep, which severely impacted my ability to perform effectively on the job.
Let me tell you, this hospital has earned the title of the WORST in all of California, hands down. If it were within my power, I would gladly give them a rating lower than one star. I would go to any lengths to avoid receiving treatment there, even if it meant risking my life by traveling to another hospital. The level of care, empathy, and efficiency exhibited by this hospital was far below acceptable standards, leaving me questioning their dedication to patient well-being and basic human decency.
It's disheartening to witness such a stark contrast in the quality of healthcare that should be provided to individuals in need. No one should have to endure such disrespectful treatment and suffer the consequences of inadequate care. My hope is that others are spared from experiencing such degrading and harmful encounters, and that improvements are made to ensure that all patients are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.
After reading other reviews, it seems to me that the people who could afford decent care got it! Sorry, Mrs. Harkey, but it sounded like you fell into the first category. Where as the people working two jobs or the diabetic for thirteen years got the dark side of our medical professionals at Little Company of Mary. If you look like you couldn't ever raise an issue ( Poor people ) or afford a lawyer, you are treated differently at...

Five âtrainedâ nurses couldnât find my vein. I had multiple people on both arms simultaneously attempting to find it. I was poked 8-10 times, unsuccessfully. Months later I have scars. A male nurse stabbed me much harder than was ethical, with a much larger needle, and successfully got enough blood for testing but almost immediately lost the vein. They refused to remove the faulty and painful IV, for several hours, after multiple requests to take it out, so that I could undergo an IV drip that didnât drip AT ALL despite being attached to me for 4+ hours. Every hour a different nurse would pass me, notice the IV wasnât dripping, unsuccessfully attempt to âwiggleâ the IV back into place, ignore my pleas to take it out, and then leave without fixing anything.
They also sent me, by myself, with a painful needle in my dominant arm, to take a urine sample that sat beside my bed until after I left the ER.
After 7+ hours in the ER, I was given no diagnoses. They prescribed the exact same medication that was prescribed by urgent care that I told them was ineffective.
My bed was in the hallway outside the nurseâs station, full of nurses who ignored me for hours. Despite having my insurance information on file, they never submitted a claim and I received several threatening bills (electronic and paper) asking me to pay $7000 out of pocket for a traumatizing experience.
However, the radiologist was very competent and kind. The only positive thing during the whole experience. However, months later, Iâm still getting bills from imaging because they canât seem to successfully submit a claim.
I spent hours on the phone in an attempt to ask about the claim. I got stuck in an endless loop of automated operators. Even when I selected the option to âpay with a representativeâ it put me through to the automated payment menu, with no option to talk to anyone.
The treatment here is borderline inhumane. I left feeling infinitely worse than when I came in. If being butchered, neglected, and viciously ripped off are things you enjoy, youâre in the right place.
I know that healthcare is a difficult field, especially post-pandemic, but this was simply...
