Great gym for what it was and for its price. Recently increased its prices! $50+?! Yeah they give discounts to military and first responders but the equipment is so outdated and old, basically hand me downs machines from the old management when it was still called “the gym” pre-covid. There are way too many new gyms opening up with much more state of the art equipment, lockers, and amenities at much cheaper prices in Brownsville and Harlingen, even port Isabel! If they want me to pay that much, I might as well get more value for my money and drive elsewhere. I wanted to support this local business, but them charging premium prices like they have saunas, massage chairs, free towels, posing rooms, etc is what really turned me away and there’s yet to see a single upgrade or new machine to the gym since it opened after covid. Great gym ! Only reason its a 4 star is because it feels small due to the equipment being too close to each other but it is a two story gym and theres basically any equipment you need to workout. Iron Asylum is a great gym for any fitness goal you may have. All the equipment are in great shape. Very clean atmosphere and great customer service.
