I just visited the Kroger on Lagrange Rd in Louisville and used the self checkout. The man who was apparently supposed to be working that section was not even staying in the area. He was looking at items posted on a bulletin board. He was an older African American gentleman named Tommy. When he came back towards self checkout, I said “excuse me,” because the scanner would not scan an item I was purchasing and there was no hand scanner at the self checkout locations to try. This employee was extremely rude. Instead of helping, he told me what button to push and walked away as if I had really agitated him.
Then I had a watermelon that I thought was on sale for $2.79 but when I scanned it, it rang up $5.99. I asked employee Tommy if the watermelons weren’t on sale. He started saying “you have to download it on your phone.” I told him I didn’t know how to do that. He came Over and swiped his badge over the scanner and voided the $5.99 and entered the $2.79 price and put his hands in the air far apart saying “the sign is this big.”
I moved to this area just last year and this Kroger employee was the rudest person o have encountered this far in Louisville. I certainly Ky won’t be shopping g this location again. I would prefer to spend my money someplace where employees are pleasant and willing to help customers. I am 65 years old and certainly don’t treat people with such disrespect and feel this worker was not only unhappy being there, but took his frustration out on customers.
The lady in the self checkout next to me needed assistance and he was just as...
Read moreContinual issue with bakery and deli orders for events not being ready events. Communication on order issues and delays is not a procedure for this store.
Ordered a cake 2 days in advance - confirmed the order day off- store could not complete order and there was no communication letting me know they could not complete order.
Manager could not address my issue instore because he was dealing with a “pallet falling” in the backroom. The six teenagers who checked me out - struggled training a new associate on how to scan cakes and flowers.
On my way home passing by again there where to associates running through the parking lot appearing to collect carts. I hope none of these young adults get hurt not following safety procedures. Management is a huge responsibility and treating your customers the way you would want to be treated is also a big responsibility.
I try to give big box retailers every chance - but this Kroger has always been ran poorly. Last month during their corporate visits - displayed a totally different store than what you see in the typical day. I wish you wanted to impress your customers as much us your corporate visitors.
This is the closest store to my home. Until PUBLIX opens- I will go out of my way to...
Read moreThis location and store chain in general is trash. I would avoid it if possible, but unfortunately it's one of the only food stores in the state.
I've purchased products multiple times to get them home and notice a bad smell, or that they are expired. This has happened with Natalie's Orange Juice, Miyoki's vegan butter, Idaho potatoes, pre-cut refrigerated fruit, and Beyond Meat products. My latest experience just occurred this weekend, 9/24/2022. I opened a package of Beyond Sausage I just bought that day and noticed discoloration and specs. I returned the product to the store the next morning and noticed the expiration date was 9/20/2022 (see picture). The product was still on the shelf being sold on September 24, 2022.
In addition, the Kroger store chain is very racist. Its employees profile black shoppers and they greet white customers while ignoring black shoppers. This has been my consistent experience since moving to Kentucky and shopping at the chain for the past two years. Either the store needs to train its employers, or it supports their racist and discriminatory behavior. Kroger will be in for a ride awakening when Publix opens in the state next year. Once it does, Kroger will never have me...
