Brix Wine Bar & Bistro — Restaurant in Louisville

I don’t typically leave a negative review. However, this experience far exceeded my expectations in a negative sense. I’ve been here before and had a good experience. This time though, the service was so disorganized that I will never give this place a try again. We were greeted and seated quickly enough with a reservation. We placed our drink order within minutes of being seated and then were asked 6 different times if we were ready for drinks by 6 different people. Ok, overly attentive is not bad, but when we received the drink order it was wrong. Then a different gentleman asked us is we wanted to order appetizers. Which we did. The food was excellent (scallops) but then after that we were never asked for a dinner order. They even came and took our menu and appetizer plates and still nobody asked us for a dinner order. Finally 45 minutes into service we were asked if we wanted another drink by one of the various servers that were tending to our table randomly. At this point we asked for the bill and with very little care we were asked if everything was ok. long story short, we ate at the Mexican place next door and had a much more pleasant experience for...

Food was pretty good. The steak was cooked perfectly, nice garnish and choice of sides. The service on the other hand was terrible to say the least. I’m referring to a middle aged guy in particular. He’s probably in his 50s with gray hair. Walked around the whole night with a terrible attitude. The look on his face seemed like he hated his job (which is fine I would probably hate it if I were him too) however it is not acceptable when the prices of the food are well above $30 per entre. Every time we would ask for service he seemed annoyed. Never made eye contact, was short and standoffish. When i called him out on his attitude, he couldn’t even muster up an apology. He said something along the lines of “well I’m sorry you feel that way”. He then walked over to another server and proceeded to gossip about us right in the open. Wouldn’t let this guy bring me my food at McDonald’s, let alone an upscale restaurant. Unfortunately due to such poor service, my family or my self will never be going...

I just moved to the area and decided to try Brix for my first time. Not knowing what to expect, my boyfriend and I (mid twenties) came in dressed pretty casually (big mistake). We were greeted and seated by an older Caucasian male in the corner of the restaurant and began to be waited on by him. He was very short and not so friendly (kind of like we didn't belong or could not afford it). Although the vibes were not great, we reluctantly decided to stay anyways. Shortly after, we were greeted by a younger African American man, (There must have been some confusion on who was waiting on us.) who was friendly, helpful, and even gave us a recommendation on an appetizer that was his favorite. If I were to leave a review on his service alone, it would be 5 stars. We finished our drinks, ate our appetizer, asked for the bill, tipped 30% and decided to go elsewhere for our meal.
