So this place has new ownership now, and I just wanted to warn people of something pretty shady. So I went in one day and I bought 1, 40oz old English and I noticed an " inflation" fee. When I asked, he essentially told me that it was a debit card fee and all liquor stores are doing it. Well, the next day, I paid cash and went across the street and bought the same thing. When I came back and asked why I was still getting this "inflation" fee when I paid cash and, and that, in fact, every store is "not" charging, this inflation fee and now I'm curious why he lied to me, the cashier couldn't even look at me in my eyes and just started muttering some ridiculous answer. I agree this is a nice store with a limited selection, with friendly people, BUT one item I was looking for that was on sale was not on the shelf and there was no offer to "check in the back" - cashier was busy chatting with either friends or co-workers. My biggest pet peeve here is that their card reader machine applies a surcharge to card transactions without notifying customers. I don't know if it's pro-rated based on purchase amount but for my single purchase it was about .80 cents. I believe they should at least post a sign to let people know they will be paying more than just for their purchase. I do not appreciate hidden fees and prefer to shop with merchants who don't...
