Market Basket — Local services in Lowell

Market Basket Bridge Street in Lowell Ma is Not doing a good job at controlling humidity and temperatures in dairy and pre packed deli section(bacon hot dogs etc) temps ranged from 42 degrees to 51 degrees. There was droplets of water dripping down on top shelf of hot dogs. Grocery stocker in aisle with spaghetti sauce had a pallet and a cart for trash parked in aisle. I nearly fell trying to reach an item in the section blocked by the pallet. The market basket grocery worker did not offer assistance in reaching item. He didn’t offer to move the pallet to make it easier for me to reach the item. When trying to run in and out of this store quickly around 8:30pm; there are always long lines but several workers in one section of an aisle straightening the shelves. One worker was using his phone while he was supposed to be straighten shelves. Impossible to quickly grab items I need with worker blocking the items you are trying to shop. Cashiers and baggers are usually friendly polite and work efficiently to keep lines moving. However, there is one bagger that doesn’t understand that always makes my bags heavy despite my asking her to pack them lightly. She starts out trying not to pack bags too heavy. She will lift bags up to check if they are light before she put bag in cart. Then she puts bags in to cart and continues to add more items to the bags in the cart. One bag was so heavy I had to take items out to be able to get the bag in my car. When I got home I weighed those items from heavy bag. The items...

Its Christmas eve I am handicapped and walking to market basket with my 13 year old son we get to the door,as were about to walk in a woman with a red coat is pushing a cart in front of us she stops blocks the entrance and says"sorry were closed" I said its 5:01,mind you the store is filled with people... So I try to explain im sorry I didnt know you closed at 5 im one minute late please my family has no Christmas dinner literally nothing before I can tell her I only have market basket gift cards to get the dinner with she literally says " we have one holiday a year and we would like to go home to our families so try Hannaford" so in a panic I forget I only have the gift cards and take my son and start to hobble on foot to Hannaford half way there I realized I have no cash only the gift cards so I call the market basket on bridge st in lowell where I was and ask for the manager.. WHO answers but the same woman who blocked the door,and I say I want to speak to the store manager not a csm/cashier she says I am the manager of the store and you shouldve been here before the door was locked I said I was you pushed a cart in front of me and said were closed she says oh well im sorry but you were late and we would like to go home to our families so.... I said I need to contact Aurther then so now my family has no Christmas dinner literally because I was a minute late I supported you thru the strike and now I ask myself why I did thank you for nothing and merry Christmas...

Pretty much every department aside from the Kitchen is great & super helpful. A lot of the workers in the Kitchen are pretty rude right off the bat, and will give you attitude if you ask for a steak and cheese. I am the type of person who keeps to themselves, so I don't even fight back when the workers are immediately rude to me. Aside from the Kitchen however, the rest of this store is fantastic. The Deli is especially awesome!

Update: May 2023 I rarely get food from this Market Kitchen because of how rude the workers are at times. I decided to give it a try today since it's been a while. I figured things improved, ya know? Unfortunately, the person who served me in the Kitchen today was super rude, I was really nice but she just tossed me my sandwich across the glass countertop at me and was giving attitude to her coworker Bill right in front of customers :( It was super unnecessary, I feel bad for her coworkers in general. Bill was actually super nice, he deserves better. I understand it's a tough job and that everyone has rough days, but there's no need to take it out on the wrong folks!
