Okot Electric LLC — Local services in Lower Burrell

Below is the review that I left 8 months ago on Google. Since then Okot has returned to hang lighting fixtures and replace a few more smart switches. Not only are they are excellent at what they do, they are pleasant, patient, customer focused, attentive to small details including knowing that lighting fixtures of a certain weight require different boxes to support them. They modified several vintage lighting fixtures to fit height requirements. I only trust them to do the electrical in my home.

My home is now smarter than I am! Lol… I will forgo taking photos of my smart switches and all new receptacles… but I will share a few photographs of the fixtures that they did an outstanding job on.

You will not be disappointed because they serve customers as servants of Jesus Christ.

……8 months ago…. Awesome, indeed! (Words of the previous reviewer!) I would like to share my gratitude and praise for an outstanding job completed by Philips OKOT and his team. They were precise, patient, thorough, and committed to doing things right, correcting numerous mistakes and oversights by 3 previous contractors. Philips made suggestions on the right and best way to do things in my 120 year old home. I felt confident about everything they did to make it a safe dwelling. He ran dedicated circuits where necessary and addressed upgrades to meet current code requirements. I loved that they were experienced in smart switches as well. I didn’t have to explain what needed to be done. There were many obstacles and hurdles that they had to overcome to achieve a fully inspected dwelling. Not to mention that they had to do this AFTER walls were finished instead of prior to drywall finishing. But, they did it with a very pleasant and positive attitude even when the schedule had to be extended. They were punctual and always informed me of any changes to the schedule and worked around my schedule as well. They were one of the few contractors that was not put off by questions and suggestions that I have had the opportunity to work with. I would like to call out Okot’s use of technology to make things easier and for efficient for the ir team and for the customer. Their automated systems really worked well and streamlined our communications. I whole heartedly give my recommendation to use OKOT for any electrical needs you have. We used Okot Ekectric LLC to do work for us at new home. There were many things that needed updating and replacing, while other things needed sorting out. They were professional from the start, starting with answering the phone. I called 2 other companies in my area and didn’t receive any calls back! When I called Okot, the phone was answered promptly and professionally. When they initially came to look at what was needed, they took the time to “listen” and not once did we feel hurried. Any questions we had were answered. The electricians that worked on site were professionals and courteous. (Very clean too) They explained what tasks would be done daily when on site. In the end, we were thrilled with all of their hard work and professionalism. We will continue using this company for any of our electrical needs. Fantastic company.

Update: June 22/2024 Again, we chose to use this Okot when installing an electric car charger for our short term rental/Airbnb. They were very quick to come out to assess and came back with a quote and knowing that we were anxious to open our business. No waiting game. They managed to get us scheduled very quickly, as they knew we were anxious to open our doors. This is the second time we used this company and maintain that we only have great things to say. Again, I reiterate the professionalism.. Explaining any thing we needed to have explained to us was done in an easy manner. Men on the job today worked tirelessly through this horrible heat wave we are currently experiencing. They did their hard work, which included trenching outside. At the end of project, everything was left tidy and spotless. (No mess was left behind) I cannot say that we would use a different company in the future for anything electrical. Another great job by a fantastic group of people. They’ve earned another five star rating from me!

Okot Electric is amazing, and I highly recommend them for all of your electrical needs! From the initial call to set up the free estimate, everyone was very friendly and helpful. Cody was able to come out shortly after I called to listen to the work we wanted completed. He gave his suggestions and the best way Okot could go about getting the work done. He explained the process very well for each item and answered every question I had. After we approved the estimate, which was very fair, Francis and his team came out to complete the work. Francis is amazing also and made sure to walk around and look at each item he would be working on before starting, to make sure he knew what we were having done and the best way to accomplish it. Any questions I had on completing an item and the potential changes I wanted to make, he explained the options to get it done and left it up to me. Francis is very friendly and personable and is very thoughtful and thorough while working.

The work we had done was adding an outlet in the garage, an outlet behind the tv, switching out an outlet to a gfci, and troubleshooting a light switch that kept tripping the breaker. I also decided to add another outlet that wasn't on the initial estimate, and Francis had no issue getting that done as well. When I wasn't sure where I wanted that added outlet, he explained they could make an access hole in the current wall or make the hole from downstairs, explaining the process for each option and finding out how I wanted it done.

Sorry if this review is long, but when you find an amazing company from top to bottom, I wanted to make sure that message was conveyed. It's not typically easy to find such a great company that does amazing work and everyone is so friendly and helpful!
