Mazziotti Bakery — Restaurant in Lower Burrell

Loved the staff, super friendly and very patient with an out of towner having trouble choosing from so many delicious looking choices.

I got mostly cookies and a few pastries. Unfortunately, I hate to say I just was not pleased with the products. But please bare in mind I'm one person and this is just my opinion.

I'm originally from Philly and also frequent friends in NYC but I currently reside in Maryland. Sadly MD has no good classic bakeries at all, so when I saw this bakery by my friends house we stopped in hoping to get delicious baked goods we'd come to love like we used to have in Philly and NYC.

That was unfortunately not the case. The cookies look like they were made fresh that morning and just being placed on the shelves, but when we got them home, were very dry and bland, not sweet at all. We each got a cannoli and while I give credit for knowing it was ricotta filling, it was also not sweet and a very different texture, more like cottage cheese than traditional classic cannoli.

The tiramisu was delicious! That was spot on. And my friend got something I believe they called a snowball? She said that was wonderful and I also got another pastry filled with a pistachio filling that was amazing. Really good!

Personally I'd skip the cookies and cannolis and highly recommend the cakes and other specialty pastries. No matter what, staff is wonderful and you'll be happy...

My mother in law got my sons 2nd birthday/our gender reveal for baby #2 here. The cake was split half chocolate half vanilla sheet cake decorated for a birthday cake outside and a layer of blue icing for the reveal in the middle. The cake was phenomenal inside and out! The icing was whipped and so perfectly sweet. The cake was moist and very tasty. My friends and family were going back for seconds. The staff was very mindful about the reveal. They used white icing the while way around the cake so that even if one of the kids stuck theor finger in the icing, there wouldn't be an oops we can see the blue icing now . They also made sure to put a note on the cake that it was a reveal cake so that no matter who was working, they wouldn't spill the beans. I give a 10/10 to this place and we will be getting our cakes there from...

A treasure in the AK Valley! Hand made, scratch bakery is still known for its almost famous Italian bread however... the cakes, pies and cookies are the real find! There's nothing assembly line in this place. Every thing is created in small batches by skilled bakers the old fashion way. The cake decorating is nothing short of artistry and this small staff will work with you to create desserts that are a treat to the eye and most delicious... and let's talk about their icing!!
