I shop at Di Bruno Bros. in Ardmore occasionally and have always found their staff to be kind and helpful, and many delicious foods (best baguettes anywhere in the area, IMHO) from Metropolitan Bakery in Philly). But today they went over the top in terms of kindness during such hard times. My AmEx gift card wasn't working on their machines and I didn't have the cash to cover the cost. Tom, one of the managers, was trying to help, and he ended up paying for the baguettes (giving me the cash back) because he could see I was flustered and overwhelmed. I was so blown away by their over-the-top kindness today, and I am also going to find a way to "pay it forward" when I am able. The good news is the small portion leaves plenty of room for the chocolate chip cookie whoopie pie from the bakery...

You can imagine our disappointment when we found the skimpiest, saddest sandwich, esp at $16 per sandwich. I would be curious if the quality differs from the location downtown? We would be embarrassed to recommend this place.
**UPDATE: I was contacted by the owner who very courteously offered replacement sandwiches for my wife and I, which we were very...
