ALDI — Local services in Lower Nazareth Township

The Nazareth Aldi is a clean and pristine store with the usual great inexpensive selections. However, when you shop there, there are some products that are great, and some that are not. So it’s hit or miss. Unfortunately, you will have to experience it for yourself to determine which are good and which are bad. It seems like there is no in between. It’s either really good or bad. However, my little Aldi shopping run was not too bad, but when I got to the checkout, I noticed the young lady (petite, glasses, ponytail)walked away to go do something else. That was my first inclination that people of my color are not very welcome there 😞. As she was ringing up my items, I made small friendly talk, but she did not respond at all. That’s when I knew for sure that I was being discriminated against as the person that was in front of me was treated very well, but not when I was processed through the line. Not to go on a long rant, but I noticed this behavior when I traveled to states north of the Mason-Dixon line. I didn’t realize that discrimination is more prevalent in the north than it is in the south, especially the northeast. I have gone to many business trips in the northeast, and unfortunately have experienced discrimination to a much higher degree versus the south and west. It’s weird when you realize the history books are not as accurate as one would think. Anyway, this store is a clean and pristine store with great Aldi selections. Big Aldi afficianado here! There's a learning curve to shopping here, but worth the trip or two it takes to learn it. Lots of delicious quality foods to be had for less of your hard-earned dollars. Cheese selection is impressive. They have store "lines", some better quality than others. Organic, gluten free, and now vegan lines are available.Many items imported from Germany, France and Italy. Weekly special items could include things such as a computer, gas grill, home decor- things you wouldn't typically find at a grocers. Take a quarter (you need it to get a cart) but don't worry, you get it back when you return a cart. This saves having to pay for cart collectors and also avoids dents in cars from wayward carts. Another tip- bring your own bags. You can purchase them but we all have bags at home to reuse. Also some states allow alcohol sales and they have award winning wines at terrific prices. Customer service is terrible. There’s an older lady that works at this location. I was there today getting a couple things. She was not only giving major attitude (being extremely rude to her coworker who needed help because her cash register line was backed up five people deep, she was very rude when checking people out, throwing items slamming her gloves on the counter, and rolling her eyes. I assume she was just upset because she had to jump in and help her coworker who needed the help. This woman constantly looks and acts like she’s in a bad mood every single time I have visited this location. Not very pleasant at all. The customer service field isn’t for everyone I guess. But if you hate your job and are so unhappy that you have to be rude and unpleasant to the customers even your coworkers maybe she shouldn’t be in that...
