Lux Nails — Local services in Lower Paxton Township

Wow, some of the reviews are so similar to mine. So, I wanted dip nails. Easy enough; except the tech didn't listen to me and choose the wrong color. Now this was my first time doing the dip nails. I asked at least 3 times about the color. I assumed this grey colored powder was just a base for the pink color. Turned out, it wasn't. When I asked her what happened she told me "it didn't matter" and that she would paint my chosen gel over the dip nails. Lol, it came out horribly (and thick!) and peeled less than 24 hours later. It wasn't a good experience and I wasn't going to get into an argument with the tech so I just paid and left. Funny, there was no mis-communication when it came time to pay; my total was $104 for my pedicure and "dip nails". That money could have gone in my gas tank! The young girl that did my toes did a great job. After the first toe was painted she looked up and said "Are you okay with the color?", so I'm seeing a trend here that the pedicures are okay but the nails are where the problem lies. They can't do nice, neat nails. This place isn't cheap and like a previous post, I went here because I live in the new community behind this location.

They aren't the friendliest. It seems like they would rather be somewhere else (again, like the other comment stated). My nails are horrible and I will need to get them taken off a day after getting them. I'm out of my money and my nails are horrible!

Note: I heard the manager taking an appointment over the phone and it just seemed like she just agreed to a time out of thin air. She said, "Yes, you can come next Tuesday at 5." I would never come back to this salon. I showed the tech a picture and she said she couldn’t do the design. I mentioned about dip powder before she she started doing my acrylic and she kept saying you have time to decide. As she was starting the acrylic she asked me if I decided on what I wanted, I mentioned about the dip powder again and then she said oh it’s too late for that now. So I went to pick a color out of all the books they have and every color I asked about she said they didn’t have. At this point I was scrambling trying to decide what to do since I wanted something very specific. She then proceeded to paint on these moons on my ring fingers and the finished result was awful, I could have done a better job. I politely told her i didn’t like the design so she started to use the machine to take the design off and at this point you can could tell she was frustrated with me, she was rough, rushing, and ready for me to get out of her chair. I should have took this as my cue to leave but I still stayed and let her finish. If she couldn’t give me the design that I wanted then she should have referred me to another nail tech more experienced in nail art. I’m so tempted to go to another nail salon tomorrow so they can give me a better design. I would have better luck with press ons. That was $65 down the drain. Appointment was scheduled for 4pm for a gel mani/pedi and after sitting wasn’t started until 4:30pm. Pedicure was very quick as if everything was a rush and had polish on a few cuticles as if a five year old did the job. The tech asked how I wanted her to shape my nails and as explained how I like my gel applications to be she became sloppy and when I mentioned about the uneven polish application which was brought to her attention she got an attitude and proceeded to tell me the owner would then finish my nails when she got done with her own client and for up and walked away. The end result ended up being uneven bumpy nails, two cracked nails, polish touching a few cuticles on nails/toes or not covering my entire nail, cuticles on hands looking chewed up from the tech trimming them. I’ll never go to them for anymore services nor will I refer anyone to this place of business and they double book.
