I would not recommend the Lubbock Spine Institue. They opened a new office in Midland and I went to see Dr Jones in Midland because he travels there on Wednesday’s. My first experience (test nerve block) was no to bad ... no huge complaints (it was in Lubbock but I am a Midland patient). But my second experience (steroid injection) was way far from satisfactory. The reason I am putting a review on the Lubbock Spine Institue is because I had some major side effects from that injection and I could not get ahold of anyone at the Midland location so I called the Lubbock location in the hopes that they could help me. Well I tried for three days leaving messages at the Lubbock office and trying to get ahold of the Midland office with no luck. I finally got ahold of someone thru their Facebook page and messages. I had a follow up appointment today with Dr Jones (in Midland) and was told that the messages I left in Lubbock because I could not get ahold of the Midland office were directed back to the Midland office who were having major phone issues. The funny thing is that it was fine for the Lubbock office to perform the first procedure on a Midland patient but not when that same patient needs some help and reaches out to the Midland office and can’t get thru so calls the Lubbock office but it ignored. Nice patient care at work here. Last, you need to train your staff at the Lubbock office not to not cancel appointments (that are not even at your office but the Midland location) without consenting the actual patient. Lesson well learned here. Side note: On my first visit to see Dr Jones in Midland, I told him I was not happy to be here cause I have heard horrible things about pain management doctors. He replied to the effect that pain management here in Midland has gotten a bad rap due to a few bad apples but here you will get the best care. I wonder why they have gotten a bad rap here in Midland and who those “bad apples” are. Interesting to say the least.
Reply to the reply by LSI below: Yes I was contacted by a nurse on sat at the LSI however that was only after I had to contact them thru the Facebook messages. I had left numerous voicemails with no reply for THREE days. And FYI no one from the Midland office called me on that following Monday. Also why did someone in the Lubbock office cancel an my appointment in midland the following Wednesday? Still have not gotten an answer to that.
Update: I requested my medical records from both the Lubbock and Midland office and when I rec’d them I was shocked !!! Dr. Jones basically called me a liar (because I did not rec any relief from either injection) and the nurse - Tabitha Ochoa - totally mischaracterized and falsified an interaction I had with her.
Please stay clear away from both of...
Read moreMy experience with this Facility was awful! When i got there (30 minutes early as I was told to do in order to fill out paperwork) the three receptionists at the front desk were stone faced and rude. In my opinion, the position would require one to be friendly, professional and welcoming as it sets a precedence for the visit. After sitting in the crowded waiting room (with chronic back and hip pain) for almost two hours, I finally had enough and had to leave. A patient should be seen at a reasonable and timely manner in relation to the appointment time. This is why we take the time to set up an appointment in the first place. After a few days, I received a letter from Lubbock Spine Institute asking me to provide feedback and suggested I call Sally Gibson as she is the patient liaison and so I did. When i called her early in the morning i was directed to her voicemail and left a message. She called me sometime after 6PM (not sure why she called me after regular business hours but i took the call anyway). When I started to share my terrible experience with her I was rudely interrupted when i mentioned that i felt somewhat discriminated. She said, "Oh no, were not even going to go there". The appropriate thing to do, in my opinion, would be to listen to the patient and maybe ask why they felt this way. When I asked to have the Facility Manager or Supervisor give me a call, she said "why they are just going to tell you the same thing I'm telling you". At this point I just told her ma'am please have them give me a call so I can have a talk with someone other than you. I am still waiting for the call. At this point I am considering speaking to the OIG and ask if they can conduct an investigation. Also, considering a report to the Board with a patient complaint. I may also consider submitting a complaint to the TBN in regards to my experience with Sally Gibson as her title seemed to indicate she is an LVN. We, as patients, must report any and all issues with this Facility in order for a positive change to take place. No patient should have to go through such...
Read moreNegative stars!! BEWARE: Hirsch has a huge ego and does not like to be questioned. Over the phone, his staff instructed me to ask for a refill when I arrived at the office. When I followed these instructions, Hirsch literally yelled at me in front of other patients and staff, saying I should not have talked about meds with him at that time. He performed an unnecessary medical procedure that increased my pain. He did not listen to my concerns or description of where my pain was located and the severity, and did not perform a physical exam. Instead, he was about to perform an additional procedure that was not what we had discussed in office, and would not have addressed my primary issue. When I paused the pre-op to get clarification about the procedure, his nurse practitioner initially told me rudely they do not make treatment decisions based upon MRIs and the procedure is what we had discussed, then admitted he had made an error. The next day when we were scheduled to review my treatment plan, Hirsch "fired" me as a patient stating our relationship had become adversarial and he could no longer work with me. This action is a habit he seems to have - he has terminated other patients under very similar circumstances and has been sanctioned by the Medical Board. He is the most arrogant doctor I have ever had contact with in my almost 50 years. He threatened to kick my spouse out of the room for not making eye contact with him because she must have been angry (she had not spoken a single word). He falsely stated my medical record showed ongoing problems he had with me; I got a copy of my full record and there is nothing in writing because nothing ever happened. The record did show results of physical exams that he never actually performed during office visits. SAVE YOURSELF - GO SEE ANYONE ELSE - NOT...
