I have been going to Texas tech University medical center for my seizures since I was 3 years old. I had been seeing Dr. Daniel Hurst for ever and OMG he was soooo amazing the when I had my son and found out that he was having seizures I had Daniel Hurst take on his case as medical wise and once again he was amazing. Well so sadly Dr. Hurst had to retire and now we have this new Dr. That doesn't seem to now anything about my son at all. Well today we go in and just because I had to miss 4x due to 2x for not having a car since ours was broken down and in the shop and the othwr 2x it was snowing at and I wasn't about to chance it with my family of 6 that 1 I'm not supposed to be driving in the first place. Then I proceeded to say that I wasn't going to get a taxi or ride the medicaid transportation ride either due to everyone had to come and she didn't like that. Well then she turned around and looked me dead in my eyes and said " well as of now I drop this patient" so I then tell her that she needed to do a referral to another dr. And she then says nope I can't do anything and then I proceeded to say where is medical records at and she said oh I can't help you with that either. So I go find help and as I'm doing so I also make a complaint on her. REMEMBER SHE NEVER ONCE ASKED IF MY SON HAD ANY MEDICINE TO LAST TIL I GOT HIM IN TO ANOTHER DR NOR DID SHE ASK IF SHE COULD REFILL ANY OF HIS MEDICATIONS. So as of now I will not have my children go there nor will I be returning back...
Read moreI’m starting this review off by saying this has absolutely nothing to do with the doctors.
I had been trying to get ahold of someone here all day. I called 4 times. The first 3 calls were dropped, after waiting on hold forever. When someone finally answered the 4th time, I explained how frustrated I was and (surprise) my call didn’t get “dropped.” All I wanted to know was the status of my referral to see if I could get my daughter scheduled with an ENT. The lady who answered the phone said that some girl named Audra(?) was really behind on going through the referrals and that they had hundreds to go through before they could even try to schedule my daughter. They are already booked out until February. She told me to call back to check in about a week. I’m sorry but I don’t want to spend all day again on the phone just to check on the status.
I decided to get my referral transferred to somewhere in Amarillo instead. That clinic answered my call on the first try with almost no wait time. Amarillo is also booked out until February, but at least we won’t be waiting forever to get someone on the phone to just schedule an appointment. That clinic knows how to handle their patients.
I realize that losing one patient will do absolutely nothing to Texas Texas University’s bottom line, but y’all need...
Read moreDr. Emad Ali: I was recently hospitalized at TTU Med Ctr. Having open, non-healing wounds, I experience mostly severe, chronic pain constantly. I have had a Pain Mgmt Specialist, also in Lubbock, that I've been seeing for over 4 years, and we have worked hard to get my pain levels to an acceptable point. During my recent hospitalization, Dr. Emad Ali made an uninformed decision about the level of pain medication that I needed. He made that decision after spending all of 2 minutes with me during rounds. He is an endocrinologist, NOT a nationally-known Pain Mgmt Specialist. He does NOT have the experience, education or knowledge to make intellectually appropriate decisions regarding levels of pain medication for those people who have specialized, high pain control requirements. I enjoy posting positive reviews much more than negative ones but in this case, I am doing so in the hope that other patients at the TTU Medical Center are made aware of Dr. Ali's limitations regarding pain control & management. All other staff members were amazing. As this was my 4th hospitalization there, they took great care of me and worked diligently to ensure that my issue with Dr. Ali was taken care of as soon...
