Sadly this course has not been well maintained. I played here ~10 years ago, and really enjoyed the course. The layout is still great, with the signature island green on 18 being a picturesque finishing hole. But the greens are damaged in spots and very hard, with a wedge to the middle of the green bounces right through. The rough was unkempt and just tall enough to hide a ball unless you are standing almost right on top of it. With the rough being uneven, and many fully germinated dandelions, we would have to spend a couple minutes looking for an errant ball. Thatâs frustrating when you hit a decent drive that fades slightly into the rough. The bunkers were devoid of sand, and had grass growing on them in spots so only possible to pitch or chip out of them which made them unplayable when there was a higher lip to the bunkers. At times, the only way out was to play a bump & run lol. A tip for the pro-shop counter staff is when you are the only person there, please put the phone on hold, and take care of the people trying to check in for their t-times. I watched him answer the phone 3 times and have a casual conversation each time, while people were trying to check in. Having worked a front counter position, we were taught to politely put the caller on hold, take care of the people at the counter and then go back to the phone. A tip for people new to the course is always follow the cart path. A couple times we walked over to the visible t-box beside the green only to find that the next t-box was actually across the road. This happened twice during our round lol. Iâm hoping the course will come back to itâs former conditions as it was one of our favorite courses to play in this area. It used to be a much better value than Loomis Trails or Semiahmoo, but right now, itâs worth the extra effort to drive down to...
Read moreThis course is one of the better designed golf courses in the area, unfortunately in recent years the conditions have gotten worse and worse. There appears to be very little investment in the course itself, once it was a course which boasted premier conditions to draw a premier clientele in a resort type feel now it has slowly one of the worst condition kept golf courses in the area. The bunkers have been gravel for about 5 or more years with zero new sand added for as long as I can remember, rough is cut so infrequently that you can lose your ball under dried dead cut grass, the fairways are typically decent until sanded with more pea gravel then sand, and the greens currently seem to be cut so infrequently that they almost resemble what is at times the length of some courses fairways. Very little has been done to help create better drainage and instead features have been taken out in order to make the course easier to maintain which has still led to conditions continuing to deteriorate. The course itself appears to not have any experienced groundskeeper at the helm. This course is a championship design and length that it is very sad to see it in such a condition and is in dire need of a investment to return it to its former management and glory. I am writing this review only to bring attention to the severity of the conditions in an attempt to hopefully bring a better product to this course...
Read moreThe 3 star only go towards the staff and supervisors themselves. Standard golf course with everything you'd expect: when it rains, it's wet, and when it's sunny, it's dry. The day I played with 3 of my friends (which is the day I post this review) was pouring rain. Wasnt ticked off about their inability to provide rain-checks as it's standard golf course policy practise, nor was i upset with how wet and muddy the course was; in the end, i chose to play in the rain, thus have no complaints. However, recent updates about maintenance falling off lately is true, and even then I believe that's still an understatement. Greens are burnt, discolored, bumpy, unequally mowed, and way too slow (because of its long grass). Tee boxes are essentially the exact same but emphasis on the long grass, and bunkers are extremely shallow and unclean (but that may be due to weather conditions such as rain and wind so don't take my word for granted). The course has potential, but...
