I really don't know where to begin...
Our reservation seemed to have some issues when we got in (it was a Wednesday), but that looked to be resolved pretty quickly by one of our party that was there before us. 35 minutes to get our drinks (there were only 4 tables full in the dining room). Waited another roughly 15 minutes to get our order placed (again, NOT BUSY but the good news was that my Bloody Mary was excellent). I ordered "The Burger", which was supposed to be made from Kobe beef....all I have to say is just NO. If this was Kobe beef then I'll be a monkey's uncle. TERRIBLE. I paid 17-ish dollars for this thing and was LITERALLY the worst burger I've had in over a year. Bob's Burger and Brew has a MUCH higher quality of meat, this was horrid. My wife asked for a dry Caesar salad (it was dressed). My niece asked that her steak not have the horseradish sauce on top (it did). Waitress never came to check on us ONCE. My fries that came with my burger had the texture of fries that had been sitting around for a day (very gritty). NO FLAVOR. We spent 2 hours sitting in the dining room trying to get through this horrible repast that should have really taken no more than an hour and fifteen minutes. I would have left ZERO tip, but my wife is a bleeding heart and gave one anyway.....to say I was angry would be a MASSIVE understatement.
Nice atmosphere, nice decor, nice view. It would have been great except for the horribly expensive, bad food and the service.....NEVER AGAIN, I WOULDN'T EAT HERE IF IT WAS FREE. I'll go to Herb Neimann's or the Steakhouse at the Silver Reef...
Read moreTried this place honestly just out of the blue my husband decided to try them. It took a few minutes before anyone came to greet/seat us, at first she seated us in the dining area, which I don’t recommend for just a party of two, she sat us at this corner table facing the corner window wall ( It was nighttime so couldn’t see anything but our reflections and the restaurant, so we asked if we could have a different table, she offered us a table booth in the bar/bistro area. So much better! From there the experience just got better! Our waitress was on top of it, super friendly, she was the only server and the bartender and it was fairly busy. She made us feel welcome and we never had to wait for her. Our drinks were fabulous, I had the Lemon Drop, which was super amazing, husband had a Cosmo with GreyGoose, probably the best Cosmo either of us has had. We both ordered the French Onion Soup, delicious! We both ordered the Filet his 8 oz, mine 6 oz, asked for both for a medium a cook, which was cooked perfectly, it comes with au gratin potatoes and asparagus. I would recommend the fries over the potatoes, wasn’t a fan, and idk what they did to the asparagus, but it was burnt and furry tasting. Steak was cooked perfectly for both of us and had this amazing truffle butter or something like it ,melted on the top, perfecto! Prices were comparable to other Steak Steakhouse’s! We will definitely be going back, I want to try the Ribs and hubby wants to try the French Dip! This place is definitely worth the drive...
Read moreSteakhouse 9 used to have the highest quality food in Lynden, especially a great burger. But quality has diminished. We have noticed this over the past year. But last night was really bad. My husband and I spent $73 for a low quality meal. I had a burger and the meat was so dry and tough that I only ate half of it. I added the soup of the day, salmon bisque, which was just a gross thick gooey salmon mixture. I took one bite and told the waitress to tell the cooks they should probably take it off their menu. She agreed it did not look good and took it away. To her and the cook on duty's credit they offered a free dessert, but really I wanted a credit on the expensive bill for soup upcharge I didn't eat. My husband who usually likes anything and will eat anything, had the honey mustard crispy chicken burger with a Caesar salad. He said the salad had a metallic taste. I took a bite and there was definitely something wrong with it. He did not eat it in case it was bad dressing. He also said the honey mustard chicken burger was not very good and he only ate half of it. My biggest frustration is that you pay a high price at this place expecting quality food. Its tough walking out with a $73 bill after a poor meal which neither of us finished when we could have spent a lot less for a better meal elsewhere. Too bad as we have enjoyed the place in the past. My suggestion is they focus on the food quality and not the peripherals of looking fancy. But in any case we will probably spend our eat out...
