Cancun Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Lynden

We tried the Cancun for the first time last night, for my partner's birthday. We were in Lynden for work. Let me start with the positive, the one loan waitress was excellent! Despite being the only waitress on a very busy night, she worked fast & hard & kept a smile on her face. There was another woman (maybe an owner?) who walking around asking if everything was ok & helped a little (pouring water, etc). Because there was one waitress for both the in-door & out-door, the service was very, very slow. We waited almost an hour for our food. There was a group of people who had 3-4 small children with them. The children were allowed to run in & out of the restaurant, climb on the patio fense, block the entrance door & run into the costumers & waitress. They were already there when we sat, so who knows how many hours that went on. The children knocked into us & our table several times. The parents & owner appeared oblivious. We were surprised at the high prices, considering it is located in a strip mall, but thought we'd try it anyway (birthday) We both had a shrimp dish at $17 each, which isn't completely out of line for a great seafood meal, although high for that area. The flavors, sauce & food were good & well prepared, but the portions were tiny. We each got 6 small-medium shrimp & a very small amount of rice & beans. Very disappointing for $17.00. Our experience in this place was awful. When we arrived, we waited fair time to be seated. Menu is simple, not big. We ordered. People in one table and another table that arrived after us and ordered after us, received their order, ate and left -2 tables! And we were still waiting for our food. They brought our drinks, but no food. More than 1 hour waiting. We asked what happened and they said they had problem in the kitchen, another 30 min, we asked again and they said, sorry, we can not bring your order. Just unbelievable!! If we did not ask, they did not say a word. Waiste of time. And the one single, simple Margarita that we ordered was overcharged!! Never going back and obviously not...

I took my son in to eat at Cancun after a baseball game. It was close to closing but there was an empty table and the server kindly sat us promptly. We knew what we wanted and the food was delivered quickly but because this is made to order it took a little bit. I think we were done and paid up after about 45 minutes. I had the Cancun burrito chicken and my son had the Arroz con Pollo. The burrito was good but the Chicken and rice was so yummy I ordered a to go order for my lunch the next day.
