Famous Footwear — Local services in Lyons Township

I've shopped at Famous Footwear in Countryside for many years I've never had a problem. That is until Tuesday, June 6, 2017. It was my daughter's graduation and I was in a hurry looking for some loafers for my son I couldn't find any in his size. The store was dead, no customers at all. Only two young women. I asked if they had any loafers the older one took me to the where the loafers were located and walked away. I looked for the size but found nothing, frantically I searched for something else, but I couldn't find anything appropriate. I sent my son to find the woman and the other one showed up. I asked her if she had a size 5 1/2 in the back,. she said "what's out here is all we have", I said thanks. She walked away and never asked me if she could help me find something else. Finally I found some casual crocks in the clearance section and then went to pay up front. By then the older woman was helping a customer and the other employee came up to the next register, she never asked if she could help me. Therefore, I asked her "can you ring me up please" she didn't answer she only began to ring me up. I payed for the shoes, and went on my way. As I walked out they both stared at me and said something to one another. Nevertheless, I had an awful experience and will never shop there again. I get way better service at a department store...

My mother tried to make a return in store and was unsuccessful with getting the full amount she paid back. The store associate could not explain the reasoning and kept repeating its “hard to explain.” After spending 20 mins in the store I witness from the car the same associate Cristina, walk out to a waiting car. Her driver honked at my mother and speed around her. This seemed like an intimidation tactic and is very unprofessional. Then when I called the store the next day the store manager could offer me no help and was short with me on the phone. This store needs to do better with register training and...

This location has really declined over the years. I only went because of the sale going on...but just like past times the shoe selection was sub-par. I usually end up going online to place an order and do store pick up here. This was one of the few times my daughter found a shoe she loved after trying on several. She had to go up a size, found the right box, but it was empty. We asked the sales clerk if it was the shoe on display and maybe the other shoe was kept in back. Nope! Someone apparently put the shoes someplace else. We left...
