This store is a joke. When I came into the store, I was immediately subjected to poor customer service. Apparently there were 7 to 8 people in front of me who previously dropped off books for buy out offers. I was told it would be about 20-30 minutes before I would receive an offer. I left and came back. I brought in 35 to 50 books. I was told there wasn't a high demand for these books and that they were also water damaged. My books were already scattered with others making it seem impossible to retrieve the books I brought in. Did I mention these books came directly off book shelves from my deceased mother's estate? I can attest these books were in better shape than the worker implied. And if these "old, water-damaged books, without high demand didn't have value, why did they WANT to keep them? Oh, and here is the best part. My offer was two dollars. I asked for the receipt I HAD to sign, and it was not given back to me. The books in question were various bible study, and Danielle Steele/John Girsham books. I have contacted all local libraries in the surrounding area and there seems to be A LOT of interest !! THIS is where the rest of my mom's books will go. Let me be clear, this ISN'T...
Read moreBuy back is a joke. Apparently, it depends on who is working the buy back counter when you come in. I noticed on a previous trip there that they had empty Pokemon tins for sale. I knew I had a bunch at home, so last week, I brought some in. The guy working (younger guy) bought all of it and told me “anything Pokemon is going to sell”. Fantastic! Fast forward to this morning when I brought more empty Pokemon tins in. The older gentleman at the counter told me they weren’t interested in any of it, but would give me $2.50 for one of them. I was pretty confused, so I told him that they just bought some off me last week and said their employee told me “anything Pokemon is going to sell.” He said they didn’t want it and referred me to the store manager (I believe) who was also at the counter. He told me that maybe if there were cards in the tins they might buy them, but otherwise, they wouldn’t sell and they didn’t want them. I told him that I just sold them some last week, and he commented, “well if we just got some, then we definitely don’t need anymore.” I left with my stuff utterly confused. Employees need to be on the same page about what they’re buying back. What a...
Read moreBought (what was labeled) a 1st press of Nirvana's Nevermind. As surprised as I was to see it available, and for (what seemed) a relatively good price. I purchased it. After about 15 minutes of research in my car, I realized I had bought a 2013 repress. There were very clear tells that any knowledge purchaser of records should have identified. Fairly upset and feeling cheated, I went back into the store to have the first manager I dealt with say "we'll give you a refund, not sure what else you want me to do about it" very dismissive and inconvenienced. The second manager, while more empathetic, pretty much just apologized and issued the refund. Vinyl is a trust based business, and requires due diligence and responsibility by retailers. Especially before placing a $375 price tag on something. I don't own a very collectable record that would have been a jewel in my collection that I thought I had acquired the old fashion way- By going into a store. I'll never go to half price...
