American Mattress — Hotel in Lyons Township

Neither me nor my wife had bought a mattress in many years, so we really did not know what to expect, what to look for, or whether the options would be overwhelming.

We looked around a bit online and got a solid idea of what we wanted and narrowed that down to a few options.

I called some stores to inquire and when I called American Mattress in Countryside, I talked to Sam, who was super helpful and accommodating, so we decided to start our shopping there.

When we arrived at the store, the showroom was great - cleanly laid out, with a couple examples of the various mattress types and some accessories, not cluttered at all. Just what someone might need, and nothing more. Overall, a very inviting atmosphere for making such a decision.

We were immediately greeted by Blake, who immediately made what could be a daunting process very simple, by laying out the few key things that need to be determined in order to make an informed decision. He distilled the decision making process into just a few key facts that made everything super easy, while never resorting to any sort of “hard sell.”

We have an antique bed, so there are some special considerations regarding the size of the box spring etc. but Blake understood all of the finer details and offered really good info to help us in our decision.

We felt fortunate to have someone like Blake to make it all so easy. This could have been much more time consuming and/or confusing without a knowledgeable pro like Blake helping us out.

We found what we wanted, and had a nice chat with Sam and Blake while we were finalizing our purchase, and though we were already feeling glad we picked American Mattress, talking to those guys about the family-owned business made us feel even better about supporting them.

I’d recommend American Mattress to anyone looking to buy, especially after our experience at the Countryside store.

I can't say enough great things about my experience and this location. I went in, not very well versed in the differences in the array of mattresses, and thought the process would be overwhelming. Sam Albano greeted me and his welcoming and friendly demeanor helped me to relax and feel comfortable throughout the process. He was extremely knowledgeable in the array of mattresses they offer and after asking questions to determine my needs, he offered suggestions on specific beds he felt would work for me. I tried out a beautiful king size, Vera Wang pillow top mattress, and Sam was right, it was exactly what I was looking for. Honestly, the mattress is cloud like soft, and I've been sleeping like an angel ever since. When the mattress was delivered to my house, the delivery men put bags over their shoes to keep from tracking dirt into my house and were cautious not to hit any walls. Compared to other deliveries I've had in my house (appliances), I felt that they were above average in their respect and professionalism. They quickly set up my new mattress and removed the old one. Since my original purchase, I've referred my parents, in-laws, brother, and pretty much anyone that has mentioned the need for a new mattress, over to Sam. I've heard nothing but positive feedback on everyone's experiences. Hands down, there is no other place to go to...

I visited American Matress yesterday (July 1st), let me tell you after visiting two prior matress stores, I found that this store and Sam who helped us there to be far and away the very best at informing us about the mattresses, their construction, what the differences were between the manufacturers and their matress lines. After picking a matress that we wanted American Matress at Countryside offered the best service in offering delivery, removal, and then backing the purchase price for two years and then backing our satifaction of the matress for 90 days. Great store, great communication, great backing off purchase and the mattress, can't be matched by other matress stores.
