Mythic Forge Gaming — Local services in Madison Heights

Was cut out of a tournament, 1 hour before it started. Lied to me on the phone about the details of the event and cut me and my brother because we are not regulars to make room for their friends.

Before I was cut, I did NOT receive a phonecall or email warning to pay. I was simply cut from the event. I was never offered compensation at all, I ASKED for it and was denied.

This whole procedure is highly unprofessional and lazy from the ownership. It seems like I was randomly targeted to be cut from the tournament because I was signed up with my brother and lied to on the phone about how it's "random" and how I "wasn't signed up in time" or how "payment wasn't received" there were a myriad of other reasons as well. I had signed up when there were under 9 people, 10 days in advance, and there was nowhere that said I had to pay or to provide payment. So the owners other random excuse doesn't reply as they constantly grasped at different reasons.

I never talked on the phone with the owner, only a worker. They cut us because they wanted to cut us as we are new customers and not their regular buddies for their small tournament.

I would never attend this shady practice, the workers and owner handle their business in a completely unprofessional manner towards new guests and should be avoided at all costs. This "game" store is obviously a small locally run cult that caters to their buddies and has terrible treatment towards new customers.

One of the best shops around 💯!! I stumbled upon the Forge during their early days, and I am honored to be able to call this local shop home. The players and staff are super friendly and helpful. They're commander leagues, events are a blast, and they get cool people to come in for signings like Phil Stone!! Highly recommended place to go to for your trades of tcg product for you'll never get a better price anywhere else.......... I probably shouldn't mention this either, but if you're looking for minty reserved list cards for magic Ian and Anthony, 9 times out of 10 have you covered...... i made plenty of new friends here, and I look forward to the many more in the future.---- Side note I unfortunately had the bad luck of having my collection stipend and these guys not o my hooked me up with a welcome package so I could be on my way to restore the damage done in losing 20k in cards but they also put the word out immediately tithe greater tcg community so eyes and ears were around to help locate them. As a Magic the Gathering player who used to play a long time ago, stopped, and recently got back into it, I was looking for a store that i could go into and feel comfortable. I went into another store and did not feel welcomed. However, when I came to Mythic Forge Gaming, I was greeted as soon as I walked in by the owner. He showed me around, and I felt comfortable talking to him, looking at the new cards, etc. Instead of it feeling like a chain store, it felt like one of those old small bookstores you used to find. It was a great feeling. I have gone in several times since, and there's always a group of a couple people playing magic who are always happy to discuss the game. They have quite a good selection of stuff, and their prices are far better than the other stores I've been in. Highly recommend, whether you're a long-time magic player, a newbie, or someone like me getting back...
