After working all night, I stopped in for a quick bite and ordered 3 cheeseburger sliders. I was surprised the worker already had 3 patties ready to go on the grill at such an early hour. I gave them the benefit of the doubt—maybe they get an early morning rush. Unfortunately, I was very wrong.
The burgers were dry, crusty, and tasted like cardboard, as if they’d been sitting out for hours. What really disturbed me was the wet white rag she had draped over the burgers while cooking them—presumably to keep them moist. Not only is this completely unsanitary, but the rag looked like it had been used all day and night. It was porous, dirty, and a clear food safety violation.
I took the burgers back, and to her credit, the worker remade them. But incredibly, she used the same filthy rag again during the second attempt—to “steam” the burgers. At this point, I was just disgusted.
To make matters worse, the grill itself was filthy—covered in piles of old, burnt onions. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in hours, maybe longer.
What really stuck with me was overhearing the employee complaining to the morning shift worker about only getting three hours of sleep due to a “pointless training meeting.” Honestly, if that meeting was about food safety, she clearly didn’t learn anything.
Bottom line: If you care about hygiene, food safety, or just getting food that doesn’t make you sick—avoid this location, especially early in the morning. It’s gross, unsanitary, and run by people who clearly don’t understand (or care about) proper food handling...
Read moreLove Telway. Always a quick pick me up with my buddy Giacomo. Tonight we picked up the usual onion ring/cheeseburger combo, but I decided to risk it, mix things up by adding a coney dog on my order. When our food is made up, I notice a funky smell wafting from the bag, but I buckle down and eat my food without complaint. Great burgers, bang up job as usual. Thank you, Telway. But that’s not what this review is about. At the bottom of that bag, after I had forgotten all about it, sat the coney dog in its styrofoam box. A nice treat to round out my meal. What I didn’t know is that my Buddy Giacomo and I had just stumbled upon the fabled Lost Arc, and boy were about to reap the consequences of raiding it. The moment I opened this box, the foulest odor I have smelled in at least five years exploded into my car. I’m talking sweaty socks and sour onions, diarrhea to go. The Holy Grail of food poisoning. I told my bud to take a whif and he nearly hurled. Since there was no way to re-consolidate the odor into the box it once called home, our drive was spent with the windows down. In a time where a good laugh is hard to come by, I am eternally grateful to Telway for supplying my friend and I with a fond memory. Years of inside jokes about the rank coney are yet to come. We couldn’t handle the power of the Telway Dog, and neither can you,...
Read moreIt's sooo sad for me and my spouse to say this, but this last order of burgers we had from Telway we're horrible. My spouse has been going to Telway for many, many, years before he met me so he knows what the famous Telway burgers suppose to taste like. My spouse was the one who introduced me to Telway burgers 11 years ago. But this time unfortunately the burgers were horrible they we're paper thin and you couldn't taste the burger. All you could taste was the Bun, onions, pickle, mustard, and ketchup. Me and my spouse lifted the burgers off the bun so we could see why we couldn't taste the usual flavor of the burger we're use to and we clearly saw the problem. The burger was paper thin and falling part which made it lose its original flavor. The burgers we're smaller and thinner than white castles. We wondered how Telway was able to make the burger so thin it was absolutely crazy. We are very unhappy to say this about Telway because there burgers we're one of a kind and very good before this order. We would choose Telway everytime over White castles and quite a few other burger restaurants. Due to the burgers being so bad we now don't want to buy anymore burgers from Telway. Telway Management/Owner Pleaseeeee switch your burgers back and the flavor because Telway burgers was 1 of the best burger...
