Going downhill. This used to be a hidden gem. Recently I've noticed it's starting to go downhill. On a recent visit the play was the slowest ever. There was no ranger at all...and the round would have been nearly 6 hours if we didn't quit on the 16th hole after over 5 hours. I'm also confused as to why they don't have a beverage cart. They could make a lot of money if they did...but I don't think I've ever seen one at Groveport. When stopping at the clubhouse after 9, we asked for fireball shots. They told us "we don't have those out right now". How hard is it to get them from your inventory and put them out? They are little plastic bottles. They lost out on selling about 8 of those due to this laziness. Finally, the course is still overall pretty good but the 13th green (par 3) had some sort of damage with about 8 huge divots at least 2-3" deep on it. It was odd they didn't attempt to replace these as they didn't look new. While it's still a pretty good course, I can't recommend it as a fully enjoyable place to play considering all of these factors. Plenty of good courses around CBus to...
Read moreI am not a golfer but the beautiful grounds that are so well kept surely are inviting. The club house has cleam, we'll maintained restrooms with ample locker spaces. Since I don't golf, you're probably wondering why I was here. I did not check out the gift shop, or whatever it is called. I was here for the Paddock Pub restaurant. They hold a craft show at the pub's event center and my wife and I were one of the vendors participating. Since the show is right there at the pub, we bought our lunch there. Excellent choice! I am one who likes to try different things, especially when a restaurant offers unique and different ways of preparing food and the Paddock Pub does this. For example, the Reuben Balls apetizer is fabulous; as is their Reuben sandwich. The salmon salad had small chunks of watermelon in it; how interesting and refreshing that is. The friendly staff adds to the experience. If you're near Groveport and want to eat, even a small plate meal, consider the Paddock Pub. I'm sure you'll be...
Read moreI learned that today, Denny, was quite rude and discouraged my son and other younger players to not play on their golf course. My son asked for pricing for golf the next morning. He was told the price and told that, in a nutshell, that they were not welcome on the course unless they practiced more. What Denny failed to realize, and did not ask about, is that my son was going to golf with me and another experienced person. So, Denny, because of your snobbish and rude personality dissuading my son to golf at The Links in Groveport, you will no longer get my business and any other people that I know. I have golfed at your course as part of a league and I will use whatever influence that I have to dissuade any groups, that I belong to, considering The Links in Groveport for league play to look elsewhere. I find your attitude...
