I rarely write reviews but I feel as thought this place deserves it. My boyfriend and I were going out for some alone time and he found this place based of its proximity to Vance's. To be honest, when we first pulled up and saw the front part I was not really feeling it (to be honest I am unfortunately one of those "judge a restaurant by the curb appeal" type people). Once we parked and went inside, to my surprise, it was very nice and clean. We were instantly greeted and told we could sit wherever we wanted. The bartender (and I believe the owner?) came right over and got our drink order and was so friendly. My boyfriend and I both had issues ordering simply because we wanted EVERYTHING! For a bar, their menu is jammed packed full of different kinds of foods and I love the variety. We both went with burgers. I got a side of fries and my boyfriend got a side of onion rings and let me tell you everything was AMAZING!! Hands down the best bar food/burger I have ever had. Serving sizes are 100% worth the price you are paying and coming from someone who has a small appetite...even my stomach made room for every bite of my food. The atmosphere is wonderful, the service is quick and quality, and my boyfriend and I will most DEFINITELY be going back. We have been telling all of our friends and family about this place. I 100% recommend giving this place a try. I'm trying their wings...
Read moreWe enjoy exploring dive bars, so we headed to Groveport and the Birch Tavern. The Birch Tavern is more of a neighborhood place and is too nice for me to consider it a dive bar. We have been three or four times. The service has always been outstanding. We have never sat long before someone has stopped at the table to say Hi and to take drink orders. The menu is typical bar fair, although they have an eclectic sampling of hot dogs. The hot dog is a quarter-pound all-beef hot dogs, some with a twist. The fried bacon dog is wrapped in hickory-smoked bacon, with an array of toppings available to diners.
I opted for the chili and cheese, an extra $1. The West Virginia slaw dog gets a topping of sweet coleslaw, chili, and onions. You need a fork and knife for these dogs. The burgers are great. The sunshine burger can choose bacon, ham, fried egg, and cheddar cheese. The western is topped with jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, barbecue sauce, and beer-battered onion rings; then, there is just a plain cheeseburger. Burgers are served on brioche buns, supplied by local Auddino’s Italian Bakery, toasted per order. The burgers are good-sized, are reasonably priced. The subs are well done. We split a shrimp basket as an appetizer, and the group found them mighty fine. If you are down Groveport way, give the Birch...
Read moreI am in town for a few days and was looking for a place to get a bite to eat. I was worried at first that this might be a little to high class for me. I thought the food would be pricy. I was suprized to find an extremely welcoming staff and atmosphere with exceptionally well priced venue items. I got the Harley chick sandwich, tater kegs and potato chips. The chips are made in house and came out warm with a generous dusting of salt, I loved that. The tater kegs were fresh, hot and full of flavor. I was very impressed. Mu sandwich was well built, hot and just delicious. The whole meal exceeded my expectations. They were busy but the two bar tenders made me feel like I was the only one there. Top notch service. 10/10 I would recommend this place. Before I ordered my phone I questioned how the chicken tenders were breaded. My server was unable to give me a definitive answer so rather than allowing me to wonder if I would enjoy it or not she had the kitchen bring me one out to sample. She said "this way, next time, you will know if you like them or not." I did, in fact, love it. But I had already...
