I was at the Obetz location during the car show and found they now have suppressors for sale. I saw one I was interested in and after researching it I went back today with the intention to purchase it. It wasn't there in the display but the stand and price tag was still there. I was curious if there may be more in stock and was looking around for a salesperson but nobody nearby without going to the gun counter and grabbing a number and waiting in a slow line just to ask if there are more in stock. I don't even know if those salesman come out from behind the gun counter for other items? I went back to the suppressor display when a salesman was passing heading to the front of the store and I simply asked, " Can I ask you a quick question?". His reply while still walking was a babbling, "I, I, I'm....." Eventually since I didn't want to waste a trip there I wanted an answer so I caught someone behind the gun counter as they were walking by and I asked my question and got an answer but it didn't seem definite like he knew for a fact that there wouldn't be any others in stock or that he even knew what I was talking about. I left, drove to Buckeye Shooting Center in Newark and they had that exact same suppressor I was looking for. There I got one on one service and they even had a kiosk from Suppressor Shop to handle the process when I decided to buy from them. I was very happy to spend my money there. If you're going to have displays with items outside of the gun counter you should probably have employees that are willing to help and are somewhat knowledgeable about the items, you shouldn't have to grab a number and wait for a long time just to ask a question or get information on those items from someone behind the...

Don’t get me wrong, I love Vance Outdoors as a whole. This is where I buy all my ammo and firearms. But, their archery department is less than desirable. The staff is very friendly but they lack knowledge. I had a bow that the cams locked out on and took it and they got it back into working condition then when tuning and setting it back up the cams locked out again. They said it needed warranty work which is understandable but they wanted me to take it where I had purchased it from even though they are a registered dealer for the manufacture. So I took it and called the manufacturer to find out where to take it and they told me Vance Outdoors. Took it back and hadn’t heard anything in almost 3mths and got the run around every time I called to check on it. Finally got the manufacturer involved myself and they had heard nothing from Vance Outdoors about the warranty claim. The manufacturer got in contact with the store and put a rush order on the parts to get my bow repaired. Finally got the bow back after having to constantly call for updates. Took it to a different bow shop to get it set up and paper tuned and Vance Outdoors put the cables on backwards. Also, I purchased an upgraded cable roller guide to have put on and asked them to serve the cables but when picked up that had not been done and was told it didn’t need it but I knew for a fact it does, which the new bow shop confirmed. Now having to pay another shop for what Vance Outdoors should have done correctly first and have already paid them for. DO NOT ISE THEIR ARCHERY DEPARTMENT if you want your equipment to...
Read moreI've been here a few times on Saturday mornings right when they open or shortly thereafter. Surprisingly, it wasn't very busy this time, and I was able to speak to a salesperson right when I got to the gun counter. This was the first time I didn't have to grab a numbered ticket and wait 30-45 minutes to get called up. There's a pretty good selection of firearms, plenty of new, some used, and even some on consignment. I've always had good experiences with the guys at the gun counter. They're very helpful, pretty knowledgeable, and if they don't know the answer to something, someone there does. They use tablets for the 4473 form, which, depending on how you look at it, can be easier than hand jamming the form and worrying about making a tiny mistake. If you purchase a firearm, you can even walk right back to the range, buy some ammo, targets, rent a lane, and put a few rounds down range. The range is pretty high tech. The targets can be programmed to move and to face. They do have a YouTube video showing how to do all that if you want to add a little spice to your range time. The prices on hard goods are a little bit more expensive than buying elsewhere on the internet, but at least you don't have to pay for and wait for anything to get shipped to you. If you know exactly what you're looking for, check their website to see if they have it in stock. In my experience, their inventory is spot on. There's a free archery range outside and a pond...
