Union South — Local services in Madison

Stayed here 4 days. Shower head was clogged and I had to ask twice to get it cleaned. It was still a super weak shower even after cleaning. Found a roach in the bathroom first night. Carpet was pretty grungy. Front desk staff are friendly for the most part but most times they don't look up from their screens when you walk in or past them to take the elevator. That's a bit of a security concern. The most positive aspect was proximity to campus, clean sheets & comfy bed, and free parking with unlimited in/out privileges. We never did try the cafe for breakfast as they open too late (8 AM). Loved Indie Cafe 4...

The hours of operation needs to be accurate to reflect the CURRENT day. I hope that’s not technologically infeasible given this is 2019! If it’s CLOSED all day, as it was on January 4, which is NOT a holiday, the web site should NOT state open 7AM - 1AM. In past years, U.S. was closed 24 hours a day only from Decembe 24 (or 22-23 if they fell on a weekend) through January 1 (or 2-3 if they fell on a weekend). The Union South is a great place where students of the area like to convene. Also just a place for people to meet up for some food during the summer. Ginger root is a sleeper for its chicken when compared to QQ's. I hope Ginger root will one day achieve the meme status that QQ'S has. Besides that the Union South has multiple places that serve beer. The climbing wall is dank and the staff are cool people. Overall happy staff employs (especially during the summer).
