First of all, I would state the CONSISTENT reviews and low ratings speak volumes. It’s amazing that this hospital is allowed to continue to operate in this manner. There must be a higher authority to which it can be reported and I will certainly be looking further into that. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone much less ever put a loved one into this facility again. The unprofessional manner in which the staff conduct themselves is appalling! My mother has had two knee replacement surgeries in this hospital. I would like to point out that Dr Rudder has been excellent in his care of her. My natural inclination is to praise good service and so I must acknowledge the Dr, as well as Shatasha an RA who very kindly looked after my mom, even to the point of having to defend my mom in response to rude behavior from another nurse in attendance. Sandra the CNA ward clerk was also very helpful. A majority of the nursing staff at this facility are cliquish, rude and extremely unprofessional. There is very little consideration for the comfort of the patient even to the extent of ignoring the patient and leaving them to look after themselves for hours at a time. After my mother’s first knee operation she pressed a button for assistance to use the bathroom. After multiple attempts and waiting for an unreasonable amount of time in an urgent situation she had to get out of bed on her own, on a knee replaced that very day and nearly fell. This is unacceptable treatment and lack of care for patients needs and could’ve resulted in a much more serious injury. To give the hospital the benefit of doubt, as we were told there was shortage of staff on the night shift due to nurses quitting in refusal of taking a Covid vaccination. We returned for my mom’s 2nd knee replacement op. Unfortunately our experience this visit was even more of an eye opener to the unprofessional behavior of the nursing staff. Specifically the RN Nurse, Dana who came into my mom’s room to prepare her for discharge. The moment she walked through the door we could see from her attitude that this would not be a pleasant experience. My mom expressed to her how she felt she had been treated by various nursing staff to which Dana responded by defending them. I understand having a loyalty to your fellow members of staff but Dana should be trained well enough to know how to respond to a patient with understanding and compassion. She could’ve simply said, “I’m so sorry you’ve had this experience.” Her job after all is to care for her patients, put them first and ensure that they are receiving excellent treatment. I listened to Dana’s responses to my mom for a few minutes before I decided to speak up. I asked Dana to no longer speak to my mom if she couldn’t say anything supportive or nice. She rudely said to me, “am I allowed to read her discharge instructions?” I replied, “of course, as long as you speak to my mom with respect as she deserves.” During her discharge instructions, my mom interjected with a further complaint. Dana responded with the appropriate response of, “I’m so sorry you’ve had that experience.” I said to her, thank you for saying that. She then replied to me, “I wasn’t talking to you!” Needless to say I was stunned! I repeated what she just said to make sure I heard correctly and she responded, “you told me not to talk!” I replied, “that’s not what I said at all. I said if you can’t speak nicely or respectfully to my mother to not talk.” I asked her if she was trained to speak this way to patients and their families. I then asked for her name to report her behavior. She pulled off her badge all the while behaving like a child rather than a trained RN. I’m absolutely flabbergasted at the poor quality of care in this hospital. I would be ashamed to work there. Someone has to take a stand for the ailing patients that have no other option then to go into this place. I intend on doing that, not just for my mom but for all of these other poor people who’ve had terrible experiences and...
Read moreHad a horrible experience!!! Went there almost 2 weeks ago complaining of severe stomach pain and nausea, only because it's been happening for many nights in a row and I just don't have the money upfront for a doctors visit right now with the rain making my boyfriends job come to a hault. (And it is NOT pregnancy that'she for sure) Well anyways the doctor at the time was very nice and wonderful, he gave me some liquid to numb my stomach pain and a shot for the nausea along will a prescription for nausea too... he told me that it's a possibility that there's something wrong with my gallbladder but he was just hoping it was acid reflux and said to come back if it gets worse... well here it is. It's getting worse to the point where I don't go to sleep till 6-7 a.m. because I'm trying to make myself stay awake to the point where I pass out so I can sleep decent. Then I had stomach pains and nausea again (this has been going on for a month, almost more) so I went back.. only to wait nearly an hour in the waiting room till a nurse saw me. Then I was put in a room and it took them an HOUR just to get a little urine sample and do a blood test, then another hour of complete silence.. thankfully my pain had eased to I didn't have to sit in agony, then the doctor came in but this one was different. I believe his name was Dr. Bennett, he was so rude!!! He told me that even if it was my gallbladder, it was best for me to just go home and see my doctor when I specifically said that I DIDN'T HAVE THE FUNDS!!! Currently I'm waiting to see if I can get medicaid, if not it's $90 to see my old doctor and $120 to go to UAMS but me and my boyfriend have to live on $60 till he can find some income and with all this pain I can't find a job right now... so thank you "Doctor Bennett", at least the last one had the decency to actually care about me! I wish I knew his name so I could give him a very good word.. it would be nice if I could know it that way the next time I ever need medical attention, I'd like to request him so at least he'll get the job done without being an arrogant ass. Dr. Bennett was just the rudest ever.. I didn't mean to vent so much but I'm in tears almost every day because I want to live normal again, hospitals are supposed to help those in need. When a doctor willingly knows that I might have something wrong with my gallbladder but does no real tests and just tells me to go home, he is in it for the money and not for the wellness of his patients. I'm 20 years old, my life shouldn't be living in fear for every time i eat and every night when I have severe stomach cramps and nausea, I don't feel like myself anymore and this doctor doesn't give a care in the world. Didn't even try to prescribe me anything to help ease the pain or nausea.. the next time I need any medical attention I don't think I want to go the the MRMC.. I'd rather drive an hour or 3 to find relief. And if I have no choice to go the MRMC, then I never want that doctor assigned to me again. He also tried saying that they couldn't do an ultrasound on me there??!! Like what?!?! It's a freakin hospital!!! It wouldn't have took them long at all just to check me out and see if it's my gallbladder or what.. but to some people, money is better than the health of a person. If I could, I would put 0 stars instead of one, but just count the one star for the doctor that actually...
Read moreDr. Brown, the emergency room doctor has to be the absolute worse!!!! Every time I take my children to the emergency room, he seems to be at work. Everything is diagnosed as a VIRUS!!! There’s nothing they can do...his motto...”Treat the pain and treat the fever”!!!! On 6/22/19 after running a very high fever since early Friday morning, (alternating Motrin & ibuprofen) my daughters temperature 🤒 hit a high of 103.4. She wouldn’t eat, hardly drink anything, rapid heartbeat, complain of her eyes hurting and her breathe smelled like bile.... I knew something was wrong. But of course, according to MRMC, after almost 3 hours of waiting, the diagnosis was, it’s just a virus that has to run its course 🤦🏾‍♀️. Sunday evening, she’s gotten even worse and I can’t take it. I drove my daughter to ElDorado to their emergency room. After checking in, we were immediately called to triage (temperature was 103.1) and placed in a room. Immediately they swabbed her throat, nose and took urine sample and checked her ears!! Within 2 hours, we were discharged with a double ear infection. She received a shot, antibiotics and eye drops. She’s now able to rest peacefully and this mama can relax. Magnolia Hospital needs new doctors that will at least ACT like they know and care about...
