After moving to this area 5 years ago, I have visited this Verizon retailer several times and have been very satisfied with each outcome. Yesterday was a totally different story. I was filing my service contract away and noticed the 'Phone Protection' recurring charge, down at the bottom of the paperwork... additional $10 per month. She NEVER mentioned this at all. I was purchasing a replacement phone, not an upgrade, not changing my plan AT ALL. I asked how much the phone was and was told I would leave the store paying less than $20. I thought that was a little bit of an odd way to describe the cost, but it never dawned on me that she was not telling me I would ALSO be paying an additional $120 via my monthly phone bill. I am highly disappointed with my experience because I feel I was deceived by her not allowing me an option to refuse the optional protection offer, nor being up front about the cost of the phone. Yes, it's my fault for not being cautious with what I was signing, but I never had cause to be doubtful in the past as I've always been completely informed. BAD decision on my part. Yes, I spoke to the lady about my issues, and asked to speak to her manager. Turns out she IS the manager. So I contacted Verizon Customer Service via phone. Please note, my complaint is NOT with Verizon, but with the employee at this particular location. Deceitful would be my description. A young lady named Ashley Barnes assisted me with getting my replacement moto razr activated after the qr code that was sent with the device did not work correctly. It was quite a task. She sat with me and was so very patient during the 1 hr and 45 mins it took us to get the digital sim to activate. The other workers in the store were very pleasent as well. They have a good thing going on there and if ever I have a problem again with my device I sure know that Ashley and the others at Russell cellular in Magnolia will fix me up! Read moreI had a terrible experience at the Russell cellular in Magnolia AR. I ordered my husband a phone online to go to the store, and they lost it. After 4 hours total time, they got the order cancelled and got him a new phone, but kept his old phone for trade in. They apparently DID NOT turn it in and now my bill says I owe the total price for the phone. The deal was the phone was free when you turn the phone in and either get a new line or upgrade your plan.
