Totally would not recommend. We purchased three pieces of furniture (roughly three years ago) and it was one debacle after another, from not have the material that we ordered, to extended delays, and excuses that we totally unacceptable including blaming our designer who was not contacted with the issues, to blaming importers of material (after they ran out of the material (again) that we substituted for the first one that they couldn’t do). My wife spoke to the manager who was not receptive. Two of my chairs were completed, but they did not want to ship them until everything was completed to “ complete the room”. This process went on for well over four months. We spent an exorbitant amount of money and to top it off, the furniture held up poorly (we have no children to ruin it). I purchased all my previous furniture from Fleuhr’s Fine Furniture in Philadelphia (never had these issues) unfortunately, they finally went out of business after 120 years or I would of used them. Sadly disappointed by the whole process.
Update: I raised my star rating after this follow up. It seems that there have been some changes within the store. Kelly Kurczewski reached out to us and wanted to make things right. We explained how we were disappointed with how the materials were holding up. They drove out to us and took cushions with them. They sent us swatches of material to find a match. They did replace the cushions and backs of the sofa and it looks brand new. The manufacturer of The swivel chairs claimed that material was not defective but it’s obvious that material should not be used for seating purposes. Overall communication with Kelly was pleasant and professional. I wish my first experience was like this one. I really do appreciate them making it right....
Read moreI had a poor experience at Sheffield that I hope is not repeated. Sheffield sells great furniture in a beautiful showroom but their customer service is poor and ugly. Last year I made a purchase of several pieces of furniture, matching lamps, tables, and rugs. One of the pieces was a matching leather chair and ottoman. When the chair finally arrived (after a prolonged wait) the leather and finish did not match. Since I previously got the run around from my salesperson, I spoke to the store manager. He promised to get it corrected. After multiple reorder attempts and a 12 month wait, I asked for my money back since Sheffield was incapable of satisfying my order. Mistakes can happen and if corrected can be a hallmark of quality customer service. I found that I had to repeatedly call, send emails, visit in person, and write letters to the president of Sheffield to get any action from them. No one at Sheffield from the sales person to the president advocated for me to correct the situation. There was no proactive communication. The only Sheffield representatives that exhibited any kind of concern or empathy about the situation was the delivery personnel. They could teach the rest of the personnel at Sheffield how to provide quality...
Read moreIt took almost two years to receive a custom sofa by Theodore Alexader. I discovered one of the leg caps was missing which scratched up my new floor, material seams on the arms of the sofa were pulled. Poor workmanship. I originally ordered (3) firmer pillows as an option expressing that I did not want feather. What did they deliver, 3 feather seat pillows which I have since paid a foam company to make. Sheffield replaced the missing cap and replaced a pillow casing that was another example of poor workmanship. I now have another pillow casing that has Seams separating. The Theodore Alexander ID sticker was just that a sticker which made me wonder about the authenticity of the product. I have pictures to prove what I am saying. This sofa was almost 5000. I purchased other items from them during this same period of time, however because of the disappointing events regarding the sofa I do not trust them. Read the contracts very carefully and get any change in...
