I had a horrible experience with the manager at Sportika and as a result I will never be stepping foot inside this facility and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else. My son’s birthday party was supposed to be at Sportika this past weekend, but my mother passed away a few days prior to the party so I had to cancel his party for the funeral. I basically had to beg and plead the manager for my deposit to be refunded, despite the fact that he knew my reason for cancelling. At first my request for the refund was denied and I was offered credit for a future party (I had already asked about 4 future dates to reschedule and they told me none were available so I was no longer interested in credit). The manager then ignored my email and request for a phone call. Instead he kept having one of his staff members, who was so sweet and compassionate, call me. It was finally communicated to me that instead of her being the “middle man”, he would reach out to me. Guess what? No phone call, not even a response to the email I sent him, which I know for certain he read based on my conversations with the aforementioned staff member. Days passed and I eventually got the refund, but without any notice that it was coming. I wouldn’t want anyone to go through what I had to in order to get this refund while simultaneously planning my mother’s funeral. Any sort of acknowledgement from him- either an email or a phone call- would have been appreciated and honestly if he showed that kindness I probably wouldn’t be leaving this review. I appreciate that he finally decided to give me my money back but I do not appreciate the added stress he caused me while I was coping with just losing my mother. I find his inability to acknowledge me to be very cold and that is someone I will never give my money to...
Read moreI see a common theme. As mentioned in all the other reviews on this poor excuse of an establishment, it is just a money grab and a scam. The people who “run” this place truly deserve negative stars! They need a lesson in customer service. The manager there gets very aggressive with teens and young adults, cursing at them and everything and the common theme is all the ones he chooses to show aggression towards are hispanic. I guess being the manager of a poorly run establishment somehow gives him a huge power trip. The other workers at the front desk act clueless and helpless. None of the workers there try to de-escalate the situation. Had to pay $15 for open soccer, we come every week and bring a large group, lining their pockets with over $500. However, the rules are subjective and change for certain people. If you are hispanic, they will try to charge you $20 instead of $15. They claim there are “no refunds” but we have watched as they gave out refunds to only certain people. The open soccer starts at 9, everyone paid, by 9:10 the poor excuse of a manager had already started acting aggressive and getting in these paying customers faces. He then kicked everyone out without a refund although they hadn’t even touched a ball yet. When cops came manager then lied to police and said the boys had been playing for 30 minutes. Cops said they come here often regarding their poor excuse of a manager on his power trip. Take your business somewhere else…. especially if you are not 100% white or you will have an aggressive manager get up in your face on multiple different occasions...
Read moreIf I could give this business a -10 I would. Cold hearted would be an understatement. Someone I know had scheduled a birthday party this past Saturday for their 6 year old. This person lost her dad 3 months ago and her mom died last week, both suddenly. The funeral took place Saturday because of the holiday weekend. Not only did she have to tell her six year old he wasn’t having a party, he had to learn that his grandma had died. The owner did not even have the decency to take her call. Messages were funneling through what sounded to her like a young girl probably at the front desk who, it should be noted, was very polite and compassionate . A quick no was all that was given from the management. There was no chance to discuss canceling or negotiating some kind of refund. 4 possible dates to reschedule were offered up. When there was no response from management, another party venue was booked. Then management offered a reschedule date a little too late. Wow! If someone from management had had the decency to take the call perhaps this all could have been avoided. Was it really worth it to the management of this establishment to be so cold hearted? Hope they never have to suffer such extraordinary loss. It is now Monday, Memorial Day. A refund for the deposit has been credited. Someone searched their conscience and decided to do the right thing, but was it really necessary to put this family through this? Even airlines are more...
