Brook Valley Appliance — Local services in Manchester

Great sales manager, negligent installation services. Ken Ax is very knowledgeable and provides excellent information about the products he sells. The products themselves are very fine. However, do not use their installation services. Ken gave me a big sales pitch for their installation service for a Miele dishwasher, claiming every customer who used their own plumber had problems. He did not tell me that his installers are unlicensed. So I paid him the significantly higher fee he charges (60% more than my licensed plumber's quote). Turns out the installers (who are very nice and personable gentlemen) are not licensed as plumbers or electricians. They installed a non-GFI circuit directly under my kitchen sink, creating a fire hazard, and violating NEC rules. They also broke the plumbing under my sink. Yes, they went out and bought new parts and installed them without charging me, but they did so negligently, creating in a leak over the non-GFI circuit, creating the very fire hazard the NEC rules are designed to prevent! I won't be doing business with them again. Their negligent installation has forced me to spend more money than my original (licensed) plumber's installation quote to hire a licensed electrician and a licensed plumber to fix the fire hazard and leaking plumbing Ken's...

I need a new cover for my hot tub so I reached out to them to try and get some information. I was told that the person who does that kind of thing was out helping other customers but he would get back to me. I had to call again a few days later and leave another message. Ultimately he called me back but we played phone tag for about a week. I then found out today from a family member that two guys showed up unannounced, let themselves into the gated backyard, and were measuring the hot tub while I was out of town. We never scheduled an appointment and they didn't even knock when they got to the house.

The manager I spoke with told me he was "sorry, but they're so used to second home owners who are never there". There are currently two cars in the driveway, and two dogs at the house. How on earth does someone see two cars in the driveway and assume no one is home and it's okay for them to let themselves into the yard unannounced!

Recently I purchased new kitchen appliances from Brook Valkey. So far the appliances have met my expectations and more. However; this review is about the service from Brook Valley. During the long wait for the appliances, I was kept in the loop on a regular basis, very reassuring. The nicest surprise was when they arrived. The two men who came to my home were extremely professional and well informed in the appliances. The move in was challenging due to entry/room configurations; these two handled it like the professionals they are and never rushed the process or the details.
