So I stopped in strictly to get some deli meat. The young lady that helped me was beyond amazing. Super friendly. Then there was an older man there who was not as friendly. Seemed impatient. Didnt really seem to want to help me. I asked the lady that was helping me for some mustard and mayo packets. They didnt have any mayo packets but they did have mustard packets. I got a little less than 2 pounds of various meats. I asked for 10 mustard packets (2 for each sandwich as I was wanting to make 5 sandwiches for a beach trip tomorrow) the lady didnt know where they were at so the man was helping her locate it. Then he seemed offended that I was asking for 10 packets and stated to me that they typically only use 1 packet per sandwich (which would have been fine if I had gotten both mustard and mayo at 5 packets each). The lady only gave me 5 mustard packets even though I had asked for 10. The man was standing there shooting eye daggers at me almost challenging me to ask for more. While this was going on he was ignoring the customer that he was supposed to be helping. I left with the 5 packets because really who cares. I'll just pack some mayo into a smaller container for sandwiches. Not a huge deal. So minus 1 star for that. I stopped here with my 1 year old daughter in tow and was hoping to use one of the car carts (where the child sits in the car part). I noticed a couple just finishing unloading their groceries finish using one of these carts so I used that one. I was walking inside with it and noticed that the steering wheels were both broken off in the car sitting part but also noticed another car cart in the cart return. So I walked the one in and went back to get the one with the steering wheels intact. Of course being July that one was too hot to sit my child, who was wearing shorts, in as it would have burned her legs. So minus 1 star for that. Now with all that said, I was lookomg at their produce (didn't actually need any though) and it looked fresh and in good quality. I also know that berkots usually has an amazing selection of meats (didnt actually look at that though at this location). So I would recommend shopping here. But I would recommend waiting for the friendlier...
Read moreIf you're from a small community and you want a good store with all of the basics, this is a great chain. There's very little reason to drive all the way to a big chain store. They have the major brands, and they have a good store brand. Prices are good and the stores look nice. At peak times they even have more lanes open than they do at the big discount stores. The produce is fresh and the meat looks good. They have good sales and if you belong to their rewards club you can save even more. On occasion, there will be some items you simply won't find, either because they don't carry the item or because they have run out, but for your regular shopping trips this is a nice...
Read moreI really kind of love our little Berkot's, but I can't give it five stars. It just isn't big enough to have as wide a selection as I'd like, and I get a little bothered by the huge variability in non-alcoholic beverage prices, like soda. When it's on sale, it's usually alright and sometimes (not often) even good, but when it's not, it's just not even buyable. I don't know, it's nice and convenient for most of our needs, but if we need to do a particularly big shop, I find myself going to Jewel usually. They just tend to have better prices overall, and a much...
