Putnam Dining Hall — Local services in Mansfield

Went to pick my daughter up at school. My husband and I really enjoy having dinner at Uconn. It is convenient because we are already there, and the food is never bad. Buffet style eating is my favorite, probably because I can never make up my mind. One time I was there I had korean bbq chicken, and I have tried to recreate it at home because it was so good. I really appreciate the signage for food allergies. Having a celiac and a lactose intolerance in the same family can be difficult when your picking out somewhere to eat, but everything is clearly marked, so we don't have to worry about it. My daughter has gotten hooked on the fresh fruit smoothies, a healthy habit I hope she retains. She can never complain about "dorm food" because we know the quality of the meals is very good....

Fairly inconsistent buffet style food. Usually there is at least one dish that is pretty good. Sometimes there is nothing good, sometimes things are really good. The atmosphere is nice, and it really fits the "stop in and eat" attitude of the dining hall. A solid dining experience. Always plenty of seating which is nice, as well as generally a good variety of food. It is a dining hall, so it suffers from the occasional lack of certain food or silverware, but no more than any dining hall. The lactose and gluten-free options are easily obtainable and solid, and the staff is nice. A lot of people I've talked to believe it is the best dining hall on campus, and I would have to agree.
