Not sure if this a management issue, or what... In the 18 months I’ve lived here, certified mail has been lost, packages get reported as delivered when they’re not, and I receive my neighbor’s mail. So keep in mind that when you choose USPS as your carrier, they consider “attempted delivery” as loading it in their USPS van and driving around town all day. It has NOTHING to do with actually walking the parcel up to your door and ringing/knocking. Nope. So when they don’t get to you that day, all those email/text notifications you got prior to that stating you’d receive the package mean nothing. If you stayed home to receive the package, too bad. They couldn’t manage their business wisely enough to do what they said they would and were paid to do. And to save face, they report back to the shipping customer as though they literally attempted delivery, because they believe carrying the package in a USPS vehicle qualifies that report. If that were true, hasn’t the package been “attempted to be delivered” since it was put on the first truck when it left the shipper? What is the difference? The difference is a gray area USPS utilizes to save face in hopes the end customer doesn’t cry bull$hit and let others know USPS has a deep rooted integrity and competency issue, reflected in their slow and steady decline. Could the USPS report back to the shipper that they ran out of time and couldn’t deliver? Yes. Could they report the same to the purchasing customer? Yes. But no. Let’s lie and report that it was attempted to be delivered. Oh! And try calling in to resolve a problem. I’ve been on hold...
Read moreI closed on my home on Sept 23. And it’s is the 22nd of October and I still have no mailbox key. I have mortgage and bills coming up with no info on how to pay because it’s in my box that I have no key to. Informed delivery tells me what mail pieces are in the box. I have 3 packages that I have yet to receive . I’ve been to the Manvel post 3 times: 2 weeks after closing on my home, Friday October 14 and Yesterday October 21 to inquire about my keys. This last time I spoke with Mary who says she has no idea when keys will be cut. She also went and searched for my mail and didn’t see any of it and says it’s likely in the box. I showed her proof of mail being delivered that I cannot access on my informed delivery app. On Friday, October 21 2022, I was told that the keys were being cut on Tuesday the 18th. No one here knows anything they say about when this will be fixed. Mary took down my infor and says she will pass this on to their post master.right before I walked in there was a lady who was leaving out complaining of the same issue according to the other guy working with Mary at the front on October 22 (I didn’t get his name ) This issue is causing a problem for me in responding to mail marked time sensitive in my box. This is unprofessional and...
Read moreAll post offices get bad reviews. I have my own opinion as to why and shared it with my kiddos. Just to see if I was correct, we took my opinion to the test. And, The Manvel Post Office did not disappoint!
5 years ago was the first time going to this location. It was for passports and during the busiest time of the year!!! We laughed with the Post Office Worker and had light hearted, fun conversations.
We needed to get Passports updated and went back to Manvel Post Office. As prepared as I thought I was, I was not. Every thing that went wrong was on me. I was kind, respectful and apologetic. It wasn’t their fault.
And, guess what? That’s right…. They reciprocated with kindness and respect!! Again, we all joked around and I even got to know them.
Don’t go in last minute, unorganized and in a hurry. And, if you do… be kind. It may not go the way you wanted it to, but, they will remember you when you come back.
They do a lot in that tiny, old post office but they greeted everyone who walked in and even knew some by name.
Thank you for being patient...
