H&H Sport Shop — Local services in Maple Lake

I haven't actually been into H&H sport shop in person, but I did some eBay/ over the phone dealing with them and I felt that Tom went above and beyond to make sure a $40 transaction that --I MADE A MISTAKE ON--, went perfect. I called and explained my mistake in ordering a part that may have been incorrect. He offered a complete refund and I declined it. I explained that since they were that willing to work with me right off the beginning, that I would be spending that money with them even if I had to substitute an item in it's place. Even if it was just a small box of ammo or something. Tom dug my package out of the pile that was to be shipped. He did the research for me to verify fitment of the part. He then called me back and verified it was correct and that it was going to be shipped. I received it in a couple days.

All in all there was a few different phone calls for information and verification. Tom was the one returning the calls with new information each time. I consider this very good customer service! After all, this was approximately a $40 transaction on a used magazine slide... How many places get right on top of a $40 transaction??

The listing stated plain and clear that there was no returns. Tom could've told me that the transaction was already processed and it was my problem since the transaction was declared shipped and put in the outgoing shipment pile before I realized my potential error.

For the reasons listed above, I will definitely do business with H&H again!!!!! Thanks for the great experience!!!!

I do want to add that approach from the customer can determine service received. I'm sorry, but the customer isn't always right. And that's ok, we are human. Same for the business, it is run by humans, they are allowed to make mistakes also as long as they make them right. But, we need to embrace that when we are dealing with other individuals and businesses. I explained my situation, stating right from the beginning that I made a mistake. That right there gets you much more respect from the beginning. Respect is a 2 way street. People often forget that a business isn't required to serve them. The business chooses to serve you. Just as you choose to do business with them. I showed this respect to H&H and they definitely...

I gave them 2 stars because although I had a very poor experience with one of my orders the other orders I placed with them were as I expected and arrived in good condition. I purchased decoys through them and they were shipped promptly and although the price wasn't extraordinarily great they had the most reasonable price for what I wanted. Which brings me to my next experience... After buying another set of decoys from them I decided to check prices on ammo. They had a great deal on steel shells that I wouldn't normally shoot, but I have shot in the past and at the ADVERTISED price they were worth the sacrifice in performance. Not only did they show they were in stock, they sent the email confirmation that my credit card had been run for the amount and I received another email regarding the expected ship date. Then I heard nothing...for days. Several days after receiving my decoys and still no ammo I decided to call and check, and was put on hold, then hung up on. I had told the first guy the reason for my call and transferred so I knew the person I was supposed to talk with knew my situation. The very short and sweet version is I finally got a hold of the guy and he was very short with me, told me they were out of stock so my order got cancelled (even though they showed they had large quantities in stock.) After digging in a bit and kind of telling the guy that I was disappointed they didn't even attempt to contact me but still had my funds in their bank, he barked back with, "They should not have been priced that low, I won't sell them at that price." Which apparently is my fault and I should have known that they don't offer prices that good. And he basically admitted that they still had them, he just wasn't going to sell them to me for the ADVERTISED price. I'll just buy my...

H and H is a shop like no others you will experience. I've ordered firearms from H and H and the owner has gone out of his way many if times for not only me but lots of people I know when we might have special request or searching for the best deal. They have come through time and time again. Stopped in a couple days ago to get Ice fishing gear and ended up walking out a sweatshirt for my wife. Always fantastic deal up front by the registers. Dont let this place fool you, stop in and check them out cause they are a gem your looking for clothing to firearms to live bait. Awesome place and always recommend H and H to everyone for that small town support and good honest advice from very experienced people. Great place. Looking forward to...
