Kings 46 Wine Bar — Restaurant in Maple Lake

Visited here with my son last night - a breath of fresh air in an otherwise meat and potatoes small town. Asked Janet, our server, to order for me, and was surprised with the Sue Flatbread. It was petite, but delicious. The owner/cook delivered it to our table, and when asked where the name came from, she shared a really cute story. It is too long to share here, so ask if you visit. I don't remember what my kid ordered - some type of grilled meat and cheese sandwich. Again, a very petite serving, but delicious. The perceived value might be enhanced with the addition of a dill pickle side, or chips. During my last visit, for a business meeting, I had the ginormous pretzel - delicious and highly recommended - served hanging from what looks like a large chrome cup rack. Good drink menu. I seriously love this place! I wasn’t sure what to expect, given Maple Lake is a small town and not a place you’d suspect a hip and trendy wine bar would be. But boy, what a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is great. I loved the vibe and all the comfy couch spots they offer. The wine and food selection is wonderful, perfect for drinks and small bites while mingling with friends. The service was amazing too. My favorite part was they had a Paso Robles wine available (Chronic Cellars), which is hard to find in Minnesota. I have heard so many amazing reviews on Kings46 and I finally found my way in tonight! From the moment i walked through the doors i felt relaxed & welcomed! Greeted immediately by a smiling face! As a veteran local bartender this was hands down one of the best places I have been to. Relaxed vibes, dim lighting, with couches and small intimate 2 tops, perfect for date night or catching up with friends. Great selection of beer,wine and menu !
