If I could give ZERO stars I would. The pharmacy is taking all the wonderful people of CVS (Cande and Davina Wilkins-both wonderful) and are running it into the ground. The current pharmacy staff is horrible. They are condescending to all the customers. They close early and then act like the long line of people waiting just magically appeared at the last minute. They are poor customer service personified! The tall African woman (and as a Black woman I hate to call another Black person) out, but wrong is wrong and she’s WRONG for this role. This role is one of servicing people who are coming in to pick up medicine so likely they are maybe SICK. There’s no grace. No understanding. Nothing. My husband has been begging me to stopping using CVS pharmacy because there’s always an issue lately with what used to be a seamless joyful experience. No more!! We are a family of 6 and pick up numerous prescriptions monthly. I will make it my MISSION to switch every last prescription OUT OF CVS! Anyone reading this you have been warned. Take your business and your patience somewhere else. 1/2023 UPDATE (I added 2 Stars) The pharmacy experience has gotten better. I am not sure if that is because of changes or if they have my name on a list somewhere and see me coming...just joking but not really. I said I was leaving but I am not because like most creatures of habit, that CVS is convenient for me and my family. I do a few things now to avoid a lot of the frustration. I plan ahead when at all possible. If there is a line at the pharmacy and I am even a little frustrated, annoyed or anything else, I don't wait, I just turn around and leave. I stopped using the drive-thru completely (the incident I spoke of was inside the store but the drive-thru was another source of frustration. Now that I do those things, we have a much healthier customer pharmacy relationship. Plus after speaking to several friends and reading reviews for other local pharmacies, it's much of the same...
Read moreThe Valley Street, Maplewood, NJ CVS is one of the most price inflated CVS' I have ever shopped in. Since when did deodorant cost over $17.00? I stopped at this CVS location late one evening on my way home to purchase deodorant and the prices for deodorant blew me away. I couldn't believe that my usual deodorant that costs a little over $7.00 was over $15.00. As I was quickly looking for a reasonably priced deodorant to purchase as CVS security stood in the isle watching me, I noticed a well known men's deodorant brand that usually costs about $5.99 was over $17.00. I thought this had to be a mistake, but as the CVS security guy was still watching me, I checked out other regular items I usually purchase and the items were double the price of what I normally pay at other CVS', Whole Foods, or Target.
This is clearly price gouging. Luckily for me and my wallet, I found another deodorant brand that was under $9.00 and with a CVS coupon I used, I paid $.73 at the self-pay register the security guy followed me to making sure I paid for the deodorant he stood in the isle watching me select... unbelievable!
I have been shopping at CVS for over 30 years. Never again will I shop at this CVS location. I don't need a security detail following me around CVS and waiting in the isle watching me shop and following me to the register to make sure I pay for my purchase. Not to mention the inflated prices...
Read moreMy experience at this CVS today was one that was less than desirable. First let me say that I have picked up packages on a few occasions from this location and the previous store associates were awesome!!! Today I came in to retrieve a important package that I needed for this Easter weekend, the young man that was helping me could not find it, so he went to find someone else to assist in the matter, a young lady who stated that she is the manager (Chavez) attempting looking for it aswell. She then told me they couldn't find my package, told me to leave my number and they would call me if it was located, clearly it was delivered because I received a tracking update letting me know it was there, also the young man said that he could see with his scanner that the package was delivered and signed for by Chavez who stated she was not there and someone else used he scanner to sign for my package. The biggest issue for me was Chavez' s attitude when I asked her if she could call UPS today after she offered to. Her answer to me was NO! I then asked her if she could call her boss which she did ( Arial ) Arial was super nice in trying to help me with this issue. CHAVEZ'S needs a in-service in customer service, although her mouth didn't say much her body language, demeanor and the rolling of the eyes...
