Visited this fine establishment March 2025 to purchase and possibly have installed a set of new sights on a pistol I was at the time concealed carrying (which I thought was legal 🤨). After finding and settling on the sights I wanted, the gentleman who was assisting me told me of the procedure he would like me to do to unholster/clear the weapon. His requests were completely reasonable and expected. What was not expected was upon me unholstering the firearm the first words out of his mouth were “don’t try anything”. I have NEVER had someone say this to me after unholstering my firearm and honestly froze for a split second. One of his terms was that he clear the firearm himself (which I’m fine with). Upon accepting my pistol he proceeds to fumble my loaded mag out of the firearm and bounces it off the floor. No apologies said, no concern from him. He then IMMEDIATELY racks the chambered round also onto the floor! I’m no expert but I CAN safely unload a pistol without dropping the round and magazine 😁. The sights were installed quickly and my pistol was returned to me. I holstered my pistol without loading it and paid and left. Inside my car I inspected the “quality” work that was just done and was not at all happy. I honestly would have let everything brush over me, but the complete lack of pride and respect done to a firearm that I carry to protect myself and family was just too much. Front sight not as noticeable in pic but does have a significant drift from front to rear. Rear sight is another story. I’m a machinist and have an eye for accuracy sure, but this thing could be noticed by a carpenter (sorry carpenters). Pics in comments. I was very impressed with the service rendered by Cedar Valley Outfitters. First of all, their prices, in store and online, are very fair. Second, when I ordered my Mossberg 464 online, there was an issue with my card, and my card was charged for three rifle instead of one. Without question, the folks at Cedar Valley Outfitters refunded the two extra charges. I went to pick up my rifle today, and Curt, the gentlemen working in the store, was incredibly helpful. I have been a long time gun owner, and I was very impressed with how Curt dealt with first time gun buyers; pointing out the strengths and weakness of each firearm, all the while being honest and unbiased and not "pushing" the higher priced firearm. The store may be an hour away from where I live, but I will be doing all of my firearm related business with them going...
