Walgreens — Local services in Marshalltown

Worst pharmacy I have ever been to. I have been to lots of Walgreens everywhere I move to but will not be using this one here in Marshalltown. Believe the poor ratings. My new ins was no longer going to cover my hormone med in full and when I went in to this walgreens for the first time to pick up my old prescription she said it was going to be 479. I said there is no way I can afford that. Let me call my insurance company. I called as she waited infront of me with the prescription. I got off the phone with a name for a generic that yhey would cover and said I would have my doctor call over a prescription. She never cancelled the one she had in her hand and must of put it back on the shelf under my name so she didnt have to deal with it pr something. Anyways...had someone pick up my prescription for my new 9 dollar prescription hormone and they gave the person both! The person paid over 500 dollars and they rudely said to me that I need to communicate and they will refund this time but basically its my fault. Just go in and meet these people you will see right away how rude, disrespectful, and how much they really dont care. Constant scowls and rude behavior. I will never...

The pharmacy is VERY poorly managed. Always under staffed and the hours are ridiculous...no nights or weekends?! They have repeatedly failed to renew one of my injectable medications even though I sent in a renewal request online a week in advance and then called them to remind them several days before it was due. Every call is an ordeal; it takes 10 minutes just to get a live person on the line.

It's very important that I stay on a schedule with this injection, so I have at times had to drive to Ames or Des Moines to pick it up because they didn't have it ready. Other Walgreens have it, just not the one in MT. And I've been overcharged more than once for it and it took several phone calls to get a refund.

Im only doing 1 star because 0 is not an option. I showed up 10 min. Early like I was told for my covid test at the drive thru, the lady with short red hair at the window was super rude to me after she found out what I was there for. I waited 15 minutes just gor them to tell me they were still searching for my paperwork? Super unsettling. I left after the way I was treated and having to wait that long just to even find my paperwork. I called there after leaving and spoke to a woman manager and she didnt seem to see an issue with the situation, she told me they finally found my paperwork and that was it.
