Nob Hill Foods — Local services in Martinez

Ten years ago, when I was wealthier, I discovered Nob Hill Foods and made a conscious choice to drive the extra miles from Crockett to Martinez to do my grocery-shopping there, enjoying the rolling hills scenery of Hwy 4 along the way.

I still shop at this grocery store, although less often, due to my tightened budget. Now, my grocery-shopping trips usually coincide with the days when I am also working in Martinez.

During these past ten years, the staff of Nob Hill Foods has remained fairly stable. This is a plus. I like seeing familiar faces at any business.

A few years ago, the store was remodeled. It looks and feels richer. For example, besides the new, classy flooring and attractive shelving, the store owners added a sushi display case behind which a chef is making...

I was there at 8:50 pm. Unusually crowded only because there was only one cashier. Could not find a basket. No one to ask, finally found one sitting on top of a register bagging area. Time to check out congested at the register and No bagger. I was with a friend who insisted I use the check out because she already had, wanted to leave, because the line was so long and moving super slow, I reluctantly agreed because, I did notice other employees milling around not sure of what they were doing....I resent having to use self check out, I might as well have gone to Wal-Mart. Did not save any time or money. I needed a bag and The bag was so flimsy it broke in the parking lot. I won't be shopping there again anytime soon. Customer service was poor on this...

Excellent community engaged supermarket serving us the products we know and love for a great long while. Its not too often I write a supermarket review but having been a customer at this location for 14 years and a member of the community I just have to share my appreciation for their staff and the solid services I have been consistently provided the entire time.

This store has an excellent meat department, I love the Ribeye, Fillet Mignon, and Cajun Andouilli. Most of the over the counter goods are sold at reasonable prices, and the staff is very accommodating.

Thank you guys! You work hard and it has not gone unnoticed. Thank you all!
