I went to this salon for the first time today. I booked my appointment with Madi. As soon as we got back to her chair, I told her I had really bad OCD with my hair and that I've had a really bad experience in the past. She took her time and told me everything she was doing every step of the way. I opted to go with bangs, which is completely new, and she cut little by little. We ended up going over my allotted time, so I did feel a little rushed. But, I was able to come to a final decision before the final bell rang. After the wash, she didn't put any heat protectant or hair serum before drying, so my hair is really frizzy. I did opt out of having any treatments put in my hair at booking, but I thought that meant special hair treatment. I'm guessing they charge extra for heat protectant. Because my hair was so frizzy, I couldn't see the "layers" that I asked for. I went home, wet my hair and put hair smoothing serum, and the layers that I asked for were non-existent. The bangs turned out great. They will take a little getting used to and some training, but overall, I'm happy with how the bangs look. The haircut took an hour and a half, you're only allotted 45 minutes, if you go over, you'll be charged $50. Because I was not made aware of that, owner told me she wasn't going to charge me, but I told her I'd pay for the additional time. She decided to only charge me $25. I tipped 25%, which brought this haircut to a total of $112. I called later in the evening asking for a corrective cut and the lady said that they can't spend more than 45 minutes to fix their mistake. Madi's availability was conflicting with my kids after school sports, so the next available was Friday morning. I already have an appointment with my normal lady in Millcreek, so I'd rather keep that appointment as I know my hair will be done correctly. I asked for a PARTIAL refund, but the lady said that the time was spent on cutting my hair, which is why I'm asking for a partial refund. The only thing that was done to my liking, was the bangs. I felt so rushed at the end that I didn't even think to look for the "layers" that I asked for. I went to Bellis Salon because it was closer. But sometimes closer is not better. This place seems to nickel and dime you.
No hair product was used to protect my hair from heat. (You probably have to pay for that) and you pay for going over 45 minutes. Pray your hair stylist can cut your hair quickly while making sure it's how you requested it.
Just to respond to the owner's response, Madi never put anything on my hair and I never specifically told her not to. I opted out of the $15-$50 add on treatments at booking. Didn't realize I had to pay for heat protectant. I was happy that Madi took her time on my bangs, but not happy that she never once mentioned to me that I would be charged for going over the time limit. Probably something you should tell the person in your chair so they aren't going to get to the register to be bombed with an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEdit cause I got a reply and I want to set the owner straight. I never asked if you specialized in type 2 hair, I asked if you had a stylist who could cut my hair since I've had my hair treated like itās straight and had it cut poorly and ripped through with a comb as if waves donāt tangle. A wavy shaggy hair cut is a lot different than āspecialize inā And if your system was down and came back up, why didnāt I get a call back about the multiple other services I wanted (not just a massage) donāt like money? Also, so ignorant to say āwe donāt specialize in ethnic hairā when referring to my type two hair (I donāt know many black or brown women with type two hair but go off) Iām white af, but it does seem like this salon is full of bullies that peaked in highschool based on what Iāve seen and heard. If you canāt even cut a white girls hair what kind of salon are you? Probably not a good one.
I got turned down because no stylist wanted to do my type two hair (natural waves, cause theyāre so difficult) and then when I asked about scheduling a massage and possibly some other services, they never called me back. Hope your system is working now (I didnāt believe her) Thank the universe I found a stylist that likes money and has skills at another salon. She cut my long wavy hair and used me as a hair model, must be because wavy hair is just such a difficult hair type for people who went to school even (sarcasm) Probably a good thing I didnāt come here if natural waves are too hard for these people to handle. I guess you should only go to this salon if you have pin straight hair and hate proper...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDisappointing Balayage Experience ā Will Not Return. I went in with natural hair and asked for a smooth balayage transition to blonde. Unfortunately, the result was far from what I had hoped for. The stylist left harsh lines and visible marks, rather than the seamless blend I requested. It was a stark half-blonde, half-natural look with a very noticeable line between the two, making it look unnatural. I called to explain my dissatisfaction, and after a few weeks, I returned for a correction. However, the stylist made the same mistake again. While she did fix the initial issue, the hair on the side was still not done correctly, the same story as described before which is harsh line. The transition was still not smooth, and I am deeply disappointed with the results. At this point, I feel my hair has been damaged, and I wonāt be returning. The experience was incredibly frustrating. Iāve explained multiple times to Liz exactly how I want my hair done, and Iāve even shown her several pictures of the look Iām aiming for. Unfortunately, both times including a correction appointmentāshe completely missed the mark. The result looked as if someone was still learning how to do balayage. I ended up having to search for and spend both time and money at several other salons to fix the mistakes Liz made. Eventually, I found a stylist at another salon who was shocked at the condition of my hair. It had multiple layers of blonde with harsh lines on the sides. Iām truly at a loss for words, and I am incredibly disappointed with the experience. Pros: Pleasant atmosphere, modern interior design, and...
