Village Pantry — Local services in Marysville

5/28/2025: As a 2nd/3rd shift worker, I have relied on the Pantry to grab my end of shift beer, like any normal resident that gets off work between 2:30pm-5:00pm. However, I have to wait about 30 minutes until 5:30am.

This morning, I was told by the new manager that 6am is company policy. Well, that sucks since I live so close. However, I was berated (and I don't use this term loosely) when I told her I had been buying between 5:30-6am since I moved to Damascus Rd over 10 years ago. Like, literally yelled at when I told her Union County law says 5:30am.

They just lost $7K+ per year in gas and other purchases. I will gladly drive to Sheetz, Corner Carryout, even Kroger for what I need.

They've gone through several managers recently, but this one acts like she's the mayor. Not going back until she's gone.

ETA: One month later, I decided to check them out and grab 2 beers. I was also asked by my neighbor if I could grab him a can of Skoal since he's older and doesn't get out much. It's one of the highlights of his week since he can only do it once in awhile.

Since I don't chew/dip, and hesitated on naming the exact can, this same manager refused to sell it to me. It is not on a gas station clerk to be the judge and jury, and decide what is legal. I provided my ID, but she refused a legal sale of merchandise.

I'm completely done until I talk to a lawyer...

Was there for my first time today 6/15/2022 on my way to work. The guy working in the a.m. was very rude. Someone was standing there talking to him. He didn't even acknowledge that I was there. I walked up to the counter, checked out, and all he said to me was "Thank you!" He didn't stop talking long enough to say "Good morning! How are you? Did you find everything ok?" He said absolutely nothing to me and didn't even look at me. Very hesitant about going there again. At least acknowledge your customers! That is clearly not good customer service! What a way to ruin...

The candy and drink selection is good.

The convenience store was dirty and appears to not have been cleaned in several years. The men's rest room had a note to use the women's rest room. The women's rest room had dirty and grime all over. Toilet paper on the floor. The toilet was broken or clogged.

It's clear the staff doesn't care. The woman working appeared disgusted she had to help customers. Talking wasn't something she was interested in doing. She also wasn't wearing a mask, not that I expected to see one at...
