I visited Shanti on two separate occasions when they were located in Tacoma Washington. I grew up in an environment that was suspicious of things like sound healing or yoga. I’m also a former evangelical pastor so there’s that! I was nervous but wanted to have an open mind. Anxiety can be a problem for me and the whole idea with this was to relax after all!
Christina showed me where to store my things and then offered me a blanket and a reassuring smile. As the music began, Christina offered a meditation on releasing negativity that was very powerful to me. One of the things I focused on was releasing fear itself, the very thing that had kept me from experiencing something so peaceful for so long. I found the meditation to be something applicable to folks from many different religious backgrounds. It felt more like an invitation to focus on peace and relaxation than a religious practice that was foreign to me.
The sounds of the singing bowls are hard to describe..... maybe like a deep humming vibration. I found that the bowls helped me focus on my time there. On my first visit I didn’t know what to expect but on my second I came with a purpose and found the bowls constant vibration helped me focus on that. I had some particularly negative experiences I wanted to let go of.
I got the sense that some folks took their time at Shanti very serious while others just fell asleep. Both options were just fine!
I left Shanti feeling more relaxed with a deeper sense of connection to myself and also to my own personal spirituality. I found myself shifting between prayer and meditation and in the end those things merged into one for a unique experience.
From a cost perspective you spend about what one would on a good show or a co-pay. Whether you think of your time at Shanti as a healing experience, entertainment, or just a unique way to relax, it’s a great deal. I even saw some couples experiencing Shanti as a date night!
I can not recommend Shanti or Christina and Paul enough. I’m sad they are no longer in my community but know Hawaii will be grateful for their presence!

Read moreI'm a huge fan of soundbaths...I go to a few every month. "Team Shanti" never fails to deliver a truly magical, relaxing, and transcendental experience! They're the best! I first met Christina at a free exhibition at Marlene's.. Hooked instantly. Soon after, I attended a few of her soundbaths at Good Karma Center for Joy. I'm typically speechless when they're over...sometimes I accidentally leave behind my yoga mat because I'm so blissed out from the journey. :) They work hard...moving around the room to address everyone's specific energetic blocks. The suspended soundbath I attended at Good Karma...in the aerial yoga hammock...was literally the best sound healing event I've ever experienced. Weeks later, after a particularly rough week, I scheduled a private sound healing appointment with Christina in my home. I remember very little...I went "somewhere else" in what felt like no time. Christina has a supernatural/empathetic talent; and knows exactly how to skillfully transition my brain from self-defeating patterns and "fight or flight" loops...quickly into deep theta brain states of relaxation....she takes me "offline"! It's priceless! Move...

Christina has such style and a way of creating beauty in everything she does. Paul is so chill, helpful and talented. The intention cards are always a nice touch. They have an awesome collection of sound healing tools that are played around and sometimes even on the body. I love the essential oils and Jewelry that Christina hand Crafts with love as well. I highly recommend spending time with these two if you can! They know how to offer an experience. A Safe and sacred space for anyone to release all that no longer serves to the bowls.
