Wei Wei BBQ Restaurant — Restaurant in Maui

Worst service and food I have ever had on Maui. I like the Wei Wei in Wailuku so decided to take a chance. Right off the order girl was indifferent and didn't seem to care if she got my order right or not and gave me attitude when I asked questions about the food. Don't eat their Roast Pork or Roast Duck cuz it's nothing like what the REAL stuff looks or tastes like... skin not crispy, fat not roasted off the pork (it tasted boiled), and the duck...no spices just salty and it looked like they dunked it in a fryer to reheat it (yuk) and the pieces were bony. I ended up throwing it away. I wanted a side of steamed greens instead of rice and asked what kind of veggies they had and she said GREEN SALAD. I said no, I meant cooked and asked if they had choy sum or bok choy and she said bok choy so I said ok I will have a side of that. I ended up with a full plate of bok choy drenched in salty oyster sauce, not a side of steamed veggies. At least I can salvage the veggies by rinsing it off at home. Best part of the meal was my Diet Coke. MCDONALD'S would have been a better choice. ...

Wei Wei BBQ is one of those spots you almost don’t want to tell people about — because it’s already hard enough finding parking. Family-owned, fast, friendly, and straight-up broke da mouth food.

The roast duck, char siu, and crispy pork are all winners. You can’t really go wrong — it’s always hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. Feels like comfort food made by your auntie who actually likes you.

And I probably shouldn’t say this, but… they might have the best smash burger on the island. For real. But don’t spread it around too much. I still like being able to order without a 45-minute wait.

This place has that rare combo: local feel, awesome people, and food that never misses. If you’re on Maui and haven’t tried it yet — go. Just… maybe don’t...

We ordered a cheese burger and combo-B(fried shrimp, fried shrimp, with kalbi). It was pretty BAD. The burger tasted like the meat was gonna go bad and it had nothing on it but cheese, tartar sauce and, ketchup, not worth the money. The plate was ok.... how do you mess up frozen fried stuff? The kalbi on the other hand was terrible, it had no flavor like it wasn't even marinated or anything and the seasoning on it had a strange taste(tasted how armpits smell) which was bad.
