This review is for Esperanza Homes not Tres Lagos. I am giving two stars because we love the house and the community however, I feel that it is my duty to let people know what they will be going through when purchasing a home here. CHECK THE BBB WEBSITE, ESPERANZA HOMES IS NOT ACCREDITED OR RATED FOR A REASON. For us, we had no choice but to use Esperanza Homes as our builder. Since moving in, I have seen several homes with Infinity Homes signs so there may be more builders available now. Our dealings with Esperanza Homes and their sales staff here at Tres Lagos was less than desirable. Throughout the process our main sales person was Alfredo. He was either incompetent or lied about several things. We were told the house was going to be built within 6 months of signing the contract, not true. READ THE CONTRACT THOROUGHLY. They have 6 months to build the house once they break ground which is months after signing the contract. Alfredo said I could put a shed in the easements as long as it was on blocks, not true I had to put it outside the easements even though it's on blocks placing it in about the middle of the yard. We added an outdoor kitchen after seeing it in the model. The location was at the edge of the patio. With mine, they wanted to put it against the wall directly below the TV jack. When I told them I didn't want the hot grill directly below the TV jack I paid extra to have installed and wanted it like the model the tried to charge me $250 to "move" it. The $2,300 "65090 Farm house Sink - ORB" I added is actually "naked" copper. When I told them I wanted ORB to match the rest of the hardware they told me the naked copper sink would turn into ORB and refused to replace it with what I paid for. I have an open BBB case on this because they refused to correct the problem. They planted a dead tree in the front yard and refused to replace it. Bottom line, they are the equivalent of used car sales people. Once they got our $5,000 and then our half of the upgrades they knew they had us. After dealing with them for a couple of months and the delays and misinformation or lies I said I wanted out and they could keep my $5,000 just give me my half of the upgrades back and they refused. Keep in mind they hadn't even broken ground yet. After discussions with my neighbor, I am not the only one who feels this way. One week after moving in their sewer backed up and started coming into the house and Esperanza Homes tried to blame their kids for putting something down the toilet. Once they cleaned it out, the workers had put construction material down the drain that eventually clumped together clogging the drain. It was such a painful process I wouldn't recommend Esperanza Homes to anyone. CHECK THE BBB WEBSITE, NOT ACCREDITED OR RATED...
Read moreI deeply regret booking my graduation party at this community center. What was supposed to be one of the most meaningful celebrations of my life turned into a frustrating and disheartening experience, largely due to the behavior of the office manager and a serious lack of communication. My family and I had been under the impression that we would have pool access during the party — something my mom’s friends have done at this same location for years, including as recently as last year. There was absolutely no clear communication that this would not be allowed this time. It wasn’t until after we had finished decorating, and the party was about to begin, that we were abruptly told we could not use the pool. This came as a complete shock to my family, friends, and guests — many of whom came prepared for a pool party. When my family calmly tried to explain the confusion and asked if there was any way to make it work — including suggesting compromises and even offering to pay extra — we were met with coldness and condescension. The office manager was dismissive and rude from the start, offering no empathy or flexibility. To make matters worse, there was a staff member (who, like us, is Hispanic) who looked like she was about to try to help find a solution, but she was immediately and rudely shut down by the (white) office manager in a way that felt unnecessary, unprofessional, and frankly, threatening. It’s incredibly upsetting to think this treatment might have been rooted in bias, but the difference in how we were spoken to cannot be ignored. I had spent weeks planning this party — hand-making decorations, rhinestoning a brand new swimsuit I was so excited to wear, and creating custom invites for what I thought would be a beautiful, joy-filled day. Instead, it was overshadowed by poor communication, zero hospitality, and the disrespectful way my family was treated. Thankfully, my amazing family dried my tears and helped salvage the day elsewhere, but I will never forget how this venue ruined what should have been one of the best days of my life. Needless to say, no one in our large circle will be booking or recommending this place ever...
Read moreEDIT: Fences were put in place, good job.
The park and lakes are neat, especially since one is muddy and the other one is clearish and grassy. It's a nice place to fish with light tackle just be aware it's strictly catch and release only. Also be aware of your rights and the law because it seems as if the security guards there make rules on the fly. Sadly I've had multiple encounters with them even though I always try to follow the rules. I've been kicked off the east side bank of the main lake because apparently its private property even though theres no signs or even a fence that'll stop you from walking the whole bank. I was also kicked off a small parking space because it was also private property, again no sign. I've looked through their whole website and theres no info on that. I will be escalating this to see what laws apply to this specific park, there was a grant given by the Texas parks and wildlife to build this place to promote an outdoor and more active lifestyle so please put signs everywhere about what's private...
