I would have eagerly given a 5 star review (higher if I could) if it weren't for the lack of willingness to make ground chuck patties. Every single time. Your ground chuck is the BEST and it is what my sons prefer for their burgers. Our entire family prefers them over the sirloin burgers. When I call or stop in to see if there are any chuck patties made I am bluntly told "We have sirloin patties made" or "Chuck patties are available frozen." Just once I would love to hear: "We'll make some chuck patties for you. How many do you need?" The ONLY person that doesn't fight you on making chuck patties is Jimmy. Jimmy told me directly once on the phone: "We appreciate it when you give us a heads up on orders but I'll make whatever you need, whenever you come in and we are open. We appreciate your business." He's a keeper. The two women look at you with incredulousness if you ask them to make chuck patties. And the one that wears the hat is genuinely an unpleasant person. I can honestly say I have never seen her smile or be outwardly friendly to anyone. Including co-workers. As it relates to the frozen patties, I bought the frozen ones they always push since they resist making fresh chuck patties. Four to a pack it says. Those patties were literally each the thickness of a pen. Smash burgers are thicker than these patties. I need to say in closing though that Barb & Patty's is HIGH quality. A legendary shop with fantastic products. It is the best butcher I have ever been to. It's unfortunate that the two women behind the counter treat you like it is a bother for them to wait on you. I work for a large company in Mentor and several of our employees love Barb and Patty's. But we all are in agreement about the women that work the counter. They don't want to accommodate the customer and it makes you hesitant to shop there. Those women want the path of least resistance as they are counting the minutes until the store closes for the day. Jimmy is the polar opposite. Friendly, smiling, joking, and provides incredible customer service. He gives represents Barb & Patty's how it should be represented. A top...
Read moreFirst off I will start by saying how professional and courteous the staff and owners were during my interactions with them and that I highly recommend this business. Due to an unfortunate mix up on MY part I ended up leaving a negative review for Barb and Patty's after being burned by ironically another butcher named Barb. Long story short Barb and Patty followed the golden rule of customer service being that the customer is always right, and in this instance I was wrong. However that did not stop Barb and Patty from being willing to look into the situation, hear my side of the story and be determined to get to the bottom of it and make it right. For that I have a huge amount of respect for Barb, Patty, and their staff. In addition Barb and Patty take a lot of pride in their business and ensuring the customers are well taken care of, I believe it is important to support small businesses and can't think of a better small business to give my support to. I do sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding and look forward to being able to do business with Barb and Patty...
Read moreBecause of this weekend's sale (6/25/16) I decided to go to Barb and Patty's one more time. I have lived in Concord 26 years and have gone there probably only 5 times because there ALWAYS is sarcasm, attitude and mean service by the one lady. Once again, I will never return. The older woman who I somehow always manage to get gave me such an attitude when I asked about the salmon sale price - and when I went to check out I questioned why the chicken was marked 3.99 - when I showed the clerk who waited on me the coupon for 2.99. She said (in a very unkind way) 'well, did you show the coupon'? I said yes, at which time she pushed the gum (really?) to the side of her mouth and gave me a stern 'well i will have to adjust the price then, sigh'. I told her I was sorry she had to work so hard and I left. Never ever again. I mentioned this to two of my neighbors - they agreed - they have experienced similar problems. So - good luck to anyone entering and getting bawled out ...
